I believe that's the best offer the leafs could table and I have my doubts that it would be enough.

Yeah I don't see how this is any good for Edmonton. I think they could do better without having to take on another 10+ million dollar contract for a player who has his own playoff issues and plays the same soft game they currently suffer from.

That's fine, if the Leafs miss out, it is what it is, but I don't think Leafs should offer more than this.

If there isn't a better offer, the Oilers just say no. They don't even consider making that trade for more than 3 minutes. There's no comparison between Marner & Mcdavid.

McDavid in 442 games has scored 627 points 1.41 ppg (214 goals)

2.) a team isn’t trading for a player who has full control without knowing he wants to be there.

Why would McDavid want to go to the leafs when they haven’t even won a round in 20 years?

I get the home factor but wouldn’t he want to to go a real contender?

The Oilers wouldn't want Matthews - I really don't understand why people aren't getting this. No - that doesn't mean they would want Marner. Both guys would walk at the end of their deals and trading McDavid means the Oilers are straight rebuilding. They could take Marner/Matthews to flip, but why bother? Just trade McDavid for futures.

They would want the largest package of 1sts/former firsts prospects in history.
