Matthew "The Knee" Tkachuk suspension incoming?

Barring a good old fashioned ass kicking the best way to get back at him is to make his teammates pissed at him for kicking a hornets nest and them paying a price for it instead of him. Finish every check harder and walk that line all night. Hit johnny and markstrom every chance they get and grind em down.

I'd prefer both but will settle for the latter as long as it comes with a win.
Part of me wants to see Matthews in 1 fight. He is soo strong that he could prob take down at any time. I just don't know if he has fighting skills.
Same with Nylander, dude is in shape!!!! if he knows how to fight I bet he could surprise a cpl guys in his weight class.

Yeah it's something stupid like one suspension for an opposing team facing the Leafs in close to a decade and a sizeable amount against the Leafs, which is odd given how they play.
Yup. In the same time frame, the soft as shit Leafs have had big meanies like Lupul, Grabovski, MacArthur, Brown, Clarkson (multiple), Phaneuf, Ashton, Kessel, Kadri (multiple - rightfully so), Komorov, Polak, Hyman and Kerfoot suspended.

Some of those names.

Thats what happens when non skilled hitters have to go out and try to make statements. Ironically more dangerous IMO

Holy hell are there a ton of defenders of this turd. Listening to Calgary talk radio, it's like Tkachuk is the victim of some horrific crime here.

He is a victim, just look at him here:

Have you ever seen a man look so victimized?:laugh:

A Flames fan also documented every time little Johnny got an ouchie to Sarah McLachlan's "Angel". So it's not exactly surprising that they make Tkachuk out to be the victim here.

Nah. I'd prefer 0.

His hands are everything. No need to go messing with that. Simmonds and Bogo can definitely give them tips to protect themselves, but I'd prefer Simmonds, Bogo, Sabourin (ahl nobody), Muzz do the fighting. In that order.

I never said the face of the franchise should risk himself fighting. Thats a last ditch scenario and willy shouldn't be either. We have simmonds bogo and spezza who should be dropping them tomorrow.

Yeah, I'll try find it. Someone at the Athletic I think did one. Leafs were last by a fair margin. Believe it might have been Boychuk in 2013, but I'll have to double check.

Ference on Grabovski was the last.

Clarkson was an auto 10 gamer (best thing he ever did in a Leafs jersey) but even if you remove that it's 45 to 1 in games suspended. Excluding Clarkson, the Leafs have accumulated 37 games of suspensions since the last time a player was suspended for an on-ice play against the Leafs

Because Parros doesn't review calls against Leafs players. Actually hasn't done 1 since becoming head of dops 6 years ago.

Now, if it was Kadri, he'd be loving this. But, it's not going to change with George in charge, so I don't understand the commotion.
Like I said before, I think Matt Tkatchuk does make dirty plays, and on purpose. I just don’t think he did this one on purpose.
You think his awkwardness is purposeful?

Tkachuk knows he can play the way he does. Nobody is going to do anything about. Players don't want to do something stupid.

If MT played like this before the instigator rule, he would either be out of the league from somebody being reckless and ending him or he would have changed his game and cut it out.

This is why you have guys like Rousell, etc lingering around.

Also, Tkachuk has lost any benefit of the doubt and has for a long time. Even when he does something by accident, he will be attacked in the media. He liked being a villain. He made his own bed image wise.

He fell on Campbell from losing balance due to Brodie hitting him. What else is there for me to say?
Take it up with Brodie if you didn’t want to see this play occur.

so who made Tkachuk bend his leg to use his knee as a weapon and drive it on Campbells head?

cause that is exactly what he does...

I will help you, its not Brodie and its not God via gravity...

its a piece of shit cheap shot artist that saw an opportunity to TRY and hide a blatant use of his leg/knee to drive it into the back of a goalies head who was vulnerable and unable to defend himself.

hope Karma get this coward soon and significantly.

its a dirtbag move. Amazing how many accidents happen around this player - cuts by skate, head shots, slew foots....all by accident of course. If a leaf did that to Markstrom flames fans would be up in arms.
they are not accidents, Tkachuk does them on purpose and this is no different.

go the f*** home if you think he just fell on campbell...if he just fell on him cause of gravity then why does Tkachuk caulk his leg/knee like a weapon and drive it down on Campbell?

its because he thought in a split second that this is yet another opportunity to try and disguise his acts of violence on the ice.

clear as day

League is always favouring the Leafs.

First Jack Campbell not only downplayed it and called Tkachuk a very good player for the way he plays, but now Sheldon Keefe sees nothing wrong with the play

But oh well. Keep calling for blood and a life-long suspension. Tkachuk will keep doing what he does and us Flames fans will all absolutely love him for it.

I honestly love how hated he is by everyone. It's hilarious. Pisses everyone off for every little play he makes. Pure entertainment

The Leafs learned their lesson to shut their mouths and not complain or say anything that the media will run with. Inside they know he is a turd

Every team in the league would be happy to have a Matthew Tkachuk. He clearly plays the game in an 'accidentally on purpose' way that does a lot of sneaky dirty things that are barely detectable and puts wear and tear on the opposition through injury and takes up mental space to detract from focus in the next game. It's an old school attrition mentality.

In terms of retribution, I'm sure the Oilers and Jets will probably be handing out enough beatdowns on Matthew this season anyway. Leafs will probably just have to get in line.

100%. Kadri was the same. That's why he was loved by so many. Problem is he used to get suspended a lot. Had he played elsewhere, he wouldn't have wracked up half those suspensions. Makes is hard for those guys who play that way to play for the Leafs.

Goes to Colorado and not a peep.
