Matthew "The Knee" Tkachuk suspension incoming?

Cannot believe this has 26 pages actually.Calgary vs Toronto tomorrow.Tkachuk will be there so I guess we will see if Leafs have any balls.

Was there a penalty, or did the league review the play because the on ice officials missed something? If, as you say, Tkatchuk is a known dirty player (which I happen to think he is, so on that point we 100% agree) why did the league not review the play? Is MT judged on a different standard, or do the people following the game (who played, didn’t they?) see a guy getting pushed, and falling awkwardly? Yes, it’s the kind of thing MT would do on purpose, but (imo) he didn’t this time.
Because Parros doesn't review calls against Leafs players. Actually hasn't done 1 since becoming head of dops 6 years ago.

Now, if it was Kadri, he'd be loving this. But, it's not going to change with George in charge, so I don't understand the commotion.

The Leafs care more about winning, apart from maybe a big hit, an extra cross check or two I doubt anything happens. At most there might be a fight, but that's about all the league really allows these days.

It's honestly a little weird how long they've gone without another team getting a suspension on them. Is there a list for last suspension called on a hit your team took? Are the Leaf's last?

First Jack Campbell not only downplayed it and called Tkachuk a very good player for the way he plays, but now Sheldon Keefe sees nothing wrong with the play

But oh well. Keep calling for blood and a life-long suspension. Tkachuk will keep doing what he does and us Flames fans will all absolutely love him for it.

I honestly love how hated he is by everyone. It's hilarious. Pisses everyone off for every little play he makes. Pure entertainment
Wait, how did he see it?

Yeah, I'll try find it. Someone at the Athletic I think did one. Leafs were last by a fair margin. Believe it might have been Boychuk in 2013, but I'll have to double check.

It’s not a dirty play to fall down when you lose balance. Also not a dirty play if you fall on a goalie when you lose balance, regardless if you can lessen the impact.

he lost his balance a bit, but the way that leg and knee swung, he helped himself fall and aim for the back of Campbells head, nothing about this incident is an accident

Pure speculation. You can’t make that assumption.

You can live in a fantasy world where you take everyone at their word. I’ll live in reality where that isn’t the case. I’m not saying for certain that’s what is happening but it’s possible.

I assume you always believe player x when they say they didn’t ask for a trade and are shocked when they get traded days/weeks later?

Its opposite day for everyone involved in the game yesterday and there's a conspiracy involving the entire Department of Player Safety (maybe the entire NHL?) to hurt the Leafs.

Makes perfect sense

How are Dops going to hurt the Leafs. What the f*** are you on about? It's just Parros doesn't hold people accountable when they play the Leafs. That's all. It's just his thing. Not one suspendable incident has happened against the Leafs in over 1000 games.

Now this, along with the Leafs always getting among the fewest amount of PPs in a season (sans the half dozen games so far this year), basically goes against the other 30 fanbases always accusing the league in being biased towards the Leafs and helping them out at every turn.

I kinda wonder if we are going to see the Leafs actually go after the Flames tomorrow? The way they are all downplaying contact to their goalie makes me think they are trying to avoid extra games to any suspensions. If it looks like they are all cool with things they can't get any xtra game for it being pre motivated if something goes down.

It would suck if someone threw a knee at Tkachuks head

Doubt it. They'll be more focused on winning. They have his number. Bide your time for when you have something well in hand. Don't make a Domi mistake.

Yeah it's something stupid like one suspension for an opposing team facing the Leafs in close to a decade and a sizeable amount against the Leafs, which is odd given how they play.

Don't go after Tkachuk, it's what he wants. To get the Leafs off their game.

I'd probably target Gaudreau or Markstrom. Maybe get Hyman to accidentally whack away a bit more?

Barring a good old fashioned ass kicking the best way to get back at him is to make his teammates pissed at him for kicking a hornets nest and them paying a price for it instead of him. Finish every check harder and walk that line all night. Hit johnny and markstrom every chance they get and grind em down.

I'd prefer both but will settle for the latter as long as it comes with a win.

If we still had Kadri or even worse Tucker I think you could bet on a suspension tomorrow lol
