I am going to chime in on this

Played with and against guys like Tkachuk. They don't just go ever the edge they are are on the other side of it. It isn't that he is thinking about kneeing him in the head well before it happens but at that moment that is exactly what he was trying to do because that is the way these types of guys think. It is a reaction to hurt someone and you can probably find a dozem of those moments that are so hard to tell if he meant to do it or not but the truth is he did mean to do it

That was just an awkward collision between two big dudes. Matthews went to hit him but caught him awkwardly with the knee. It's good to see Anderson wasn't hurt and has been playing. Matthews is not greasy like Tkachuk.

Second, stick to the topic of thread. This isn't about Matthews and Anderson, I know Matthews has tortured you guys since he came in but stick to topic at hand please. :)

North Korean leadership must be jealous of the relationship leafs natiom has with reality

Was there a penalty, or did the league review the play because the on ice officials missed something? If, as you say, Tkatchuk is a known dirty player (which I happen to think he is, so on that point we 100% agree) why did the league not review the play? Is MT judged on a different standard, or do the people following the game (who played, didn’t they?) see a guy getting pushed, and falling awkwardly? Yes, it’s the kind of thing MT would do on purpose, but (imo) he didn’t this time.

Yup. Guys like Tkachuk don’t deserve the benefit of the doubt.

No call on the play. Haven’t heard anything from the leafs that they were concerned about it. It probably helped that Campbell was able to finish the game, if he’d left they likely would have looked at it more. Part of it is that it was Tkachuk and a lot of fans think he’s a greasy player, if your goalie gets fallen on like that, there is reason for concern. But judging how Campbell and the Leafs have handled it so far, they must agree that yes he fell on him, but wasn’t intentional

He was absolutely going to fall on Campbell no matter what he did. It did look to me as though he lifted the knee to drop with as much force as he could though.

I can't believe I'm even entertaining this nonsense, but if you watch the play in slow motion you see Tkachuk's right skate get pushed across his body to his left side by Brodie while his left skate is in the air. He has no choice but to fall over at that point, which he does.

I'm just glad Campbell is alive, really.

I saw nothing that should have made his left foot come up even with the crossbar.

Of course, its just split second physicality. Its not like a Downie flying down the ice to jump into someone, but its still intentional. I think something can be intentional without being premeditated.

Saw a decent alternate angle, not really any reason for him to lift his leg up in the first place, so the excuse that he was pushed sideways and fell is dumb.

That's the thing.

If he were going to fall on his own goalie I bet his landing would've looked a lot different. Since he was about to fall on the Leaf's goalie he made sure to make it count.

Yep, it's quite sad to see the mental leaps people will make to try to scandalmonger Matthew Tkachuk.

LMAO at this attempt of deflection. Let's not forget Tkachuk slewfooting Davidson which injured him for 30+ games, or how he kicked Scheifele. The guy's one of the dirtiest players in the league. Nobody looks at Leon Draisaitl and thinks he's automatically dirty like Tkachuk. Typical flames fan defending the dirtiest rat in the league.

You mean that other play that was also not a suspension. You can see Davidson hit Tkachuk as he tries to steer Tkachuk into the corner, then both players fall. Tkachuk has a talent for getting players to act irrationally.

I feel bad that Davidson got hurt, but he needs to learn to control his emotions. Same deal with Kassian.

Too bad this isn't about Davidson or Kassian? You're the only one mentioning them from the first place. This is about Tkachuk being a dirty rat

Definitely deserves a punch in the face. We’ll see if he squares up or not.

Should be fireworks based on how irate the Leafs are about the play. I mean, it is all over the news today from management on down. Oh. Wait. No one from the organization has said anything about it. Why don't they have their players' backs?

Matthews made one comment about a question he was asked in the first game and it became National news. You might get a different reaction if it was another team.

It's a little crazy the lengths you go to defend a dirty play. He's not seeing your valiant effort to defend his honor.
He fell on Campbell from losing balance due to Brodie hitting him. What else is there for me to say?
Take it up with Brodie if you didn’t want to see this play occur.
