The fans won't care as long as they win in the playoffs.
At this point I don’t give a rats ass what style of play gets it done. I just want that feeling that winning in the playoffs brings. Play like the 1975 flyers for all I care. Just win games when they mean something.

yep, saw them all, and none of them are like these two kids.
I watched them all too and I'm finding wanting. Though I still have a lot of hope for Matthews.

I curse Clark, Sundin, Potvin, Cujo for being average superstars that made me fall in love with this team.

If our core are “too young” to be good in the playoffs, then they shouldn’t have demanded unprecedented overpayments.
Yea. I don’t care how you look at it, Marner and Matthews deserve the majority of the blame for this series going to 7 games. They either could’ve taken less money so we could shore up our secondary scoring even more so they don’t have to “carry” the team, or they could actually show up when it matters.

Leafs fans have suffered enough, we don't need to be bored to death by Tortorella style hockey.

If they play stingy hockey, and they play desperate and they play proud. Like the Isles. I'd be extremely happy.

A blockbuster trade hinges on Game 7 and seeing how far the Leafs can go if they beat the Habs. Regardless, they need to be in on Seth Jones -- he's exactly what the club needs.

If the playoff run comes to a premature end tonight I’m not sure I have the appetite to re-sign Hyman. I know he’s hurt now but imagine him on a big contract with significant wear and tear? It would potentially be like re-signing Mike Richards sans championship loyalty. I would be saving all my resources to retool the team. The more you think about tonight the more it could be the end of an era.

I think it would be the opposite. If he can in-still better structure and make our young players more accountable, I think our offence would entertain more because the team would win tougher games.

Tonight will inevitably be the end of an era. Whether it's going to be the era of first round losses or the era of the team who accumulated them has yet to be seen.

There is definitely some risk there with Hyman, especially with his knee injuries piling up. But I don't think losing him solves any of our current problems and I'm afraid letting him walk might just make him management's scapegoat, in the event that they manage to keep their jobs anyways.

They should trade Marner for 1 year of Seth Jones. If we can resign him great if not oh well at least it fixes the pay scale of our roster.
In a trade for Jones, only Matthews is off-limits for me. But if the cost is Marner, there must be an extension in the works for Jones. If Seth is bullish on testing the market, the Jackets are not getting a return close to Mitch Marner -- from anyone. For rental Jones, the cost could be Sandin, another decent prospect and a 1st. I could be sold on a Marner-for-Jones swap but Jones has to be Leafs property for 6-7 years.
