Leafs in six, against the Jets. Then we smoke the survivors of the Americans.

I cannot wait to hear, the 99 percent wailing now, capitulate. Its the same as in the stock market.

Buy, when the shorts figure, the bottom is in, the insiders figure its time to run the buffalo.

Rinse and repeat.

Borje knows.

Lets see, lol.

I did a quick kinda figure up. Y'ALL have given up.

EQUALS, odds set up. equals leafs win. Take off yer masks, this is a no brainer, suddenly Matthews finds the range.

The crowd goes wild, the other way. WOW. still works after all these years.

So if you wanted a trade Marner thread why didn't you just make a trade Marner thread....sheesh transparent or what?
Well that’s what the vast majority of leafs fans want regardless. I’m just trying to present other options.
I would gladly drive Marner to the airport for a 7rh round pick

Teams dont make moves because fans are upset at their expectations. It took us 7 years to build a team capable of making the playoffs and with the talent that we should be able to win with. Its easy to dismantle a team, its hard to build it back up again.
Another way to look at it is that the unprecedented experiment of half the cap on four forwards has proven to it be ineffective.

It’s not about “dismantling” the team, but more about restructuring. And Marner just makes the most sense to go if that’s the case.

Here's the problem... let's assume the Leafs lose tomorrow... who can you realistically apply the blame towards?

It's not Morgan Rielly, or really, any of the D. This is by far the best defensive group the Leafs have had in a long time, and there's no "upgrade" on Rielly for $5m.

It's not William Nylander, who has been our best forward in this series.

It's certainly not Jack Campbell, who has given the Leafs every opportunity to win.

Sure -- you could blame the likes of Thornton & Simmonds, who've done nothing, versus a guy like Corey Perry who's been good for Montreal... but that isn't the quantum of change that will be required.

Ultimately, you you could blame the lack of "depth" to deflect attention away from M&M; but I think that's a bit disingenuous considering what Toronto has gotten from Spezza, Nylander, and Kerfoot, as well as an easy cop-out because they did lose an $11m player 10 minutes into the series.

To me, the blame falls solely on M&M. At $22m combined, they need to be better, plain and simple. It really is a shame, because if the Leafs had been tougher on all 3 negotiations, they'd have probably had 1-2 more really good pieces to make M&Ms lives easier, or better yet, break them up.

Lol, if you think Marner and Matthews are nothing I dont know what to tell you.
I dont think they are nothing.
But to pretend they have not been awful this series (especially Marner) is the equivalent to burying your head in the sand.
The guy is not a big game player. I wish he was. He is not.

Not sure what you're smokin dude but you should probably be marketing it.

The leafs as currently constituted are not a Stanley Cup team........ That is a cold hard fact.

Sure they might squeek past the undergunned habs but they'll never beat an American team in the final four.

Boston, Vegas, Tampa, Colorado are on another level.

The only quality we've received in the first round is our depth players. Without them, this series would be over by now. It's the core group that's not performing.

Spezza has more goals than Hyman, Matthews and Marner COMBINED.

Our depth is fine.
I disagree.Engvall, Simmonds, Thornton, and Mikheyev are awful.
Foligno was a total waste of a trade

I agree that a major change/trade is needed but what scares the hell out of me is that Shanny is to dumb to fire Dubas and he will be making this trade or move

If anyone needs to be traded, it’s Marner but they’re not eliminated yet and then making a good run woukd turn this negativity around

Rielly for Virtanen + Holtby
Marner for Jones

Identity change

Hyman - Matthews - Nylander
Schwartz - Tavares - Robertson
Mikhayev - Kerfoot - Virtanen
Brooks - Spezza - Anderson

Sandin - Jones
Muzzin - Brodie
Holl - Liljgren

Campbell
Holtby

But seriously....who knows what's going on with this damn team. They could win tomorrow, go on a run shut us all up - only to lose a nail biter in the finals.....

Marner traded. The KID, is blocking shots with his body.

When we win in game seven, I want, so many to go away.

SO, many to capitulate, so many to realize, that is why most investors lose all the time.

Leafs to win. All the way.

Salming, said, it even confused me, he wasn't paid to say it. Get by Monster ALL.

We win the CUP.

We get by these guys, we win the Cup.

No other team has a gang like MONTREAL. No Price. No Webber, no Corey Perry.

We win this game, we win the CUP.

Imagine, hearing 300, I was wrong's.

I cannot wait. I MYSELF, live on capitch.

Capitch babes, coming up on a platter for you ,.

Trading superstars, for what lousy nba players earn.

Dubas unfortunately didnt get the memo on the no increase on the cap, tant pis. Kind of stuff that can make you look bad, for sure.

Anyways, he will look great, everyone will start praising him after we CRUSH, the HABS,

Get Marner the hell out of the locker room! He has to go.

Good idea starting this thread before playing game 7 because if we go on a run we all know they will make a major change :help:

Start at the top and let the new management/coaching decide what to do instead of making the same old mistakes with the management/coaching we got.
I think Dubas has done a great job with player personnel decisions and drafting but what worries me his love-affair with everything Marner. I could see him not doing what everyone sees as obvious and that is to trade Marner, which is why a fresh set of eyes and decision makers should maybe be considered

Win or lose, we all know our core is seriously flawed. Is this the year we finally see a major trade from within the “core”?
I doubt we look to trade matthews.
Do we ask Tavares to waive?
Do we move Reilly with a year left on his deal? Do we resign him for big money?
Do we move Nylander (the only one who is playing very well)?

Or.... do we do what most people are probably thinking?... Trade Mitch Marner.
It seems like the most sensible thing to do to reshape a very flawed core. Does anyone believe this core can achieve great things (salaries considered)?

Marner for Eichel? (What needs to be added?)
Marner for picks and prospects (what can we expect)?

Will Dubas even be the guy making the moves if we lose game 7?
I’m hoping that IF we lose tonight, or lose to Winnipeg, Dubas is shown the door. Then I believe some necessary changes would be made, which would include breaking up the core.
I would not want Eichel. Way too much money would be spent on basically 3 #1 centers. Would much sooner see Marner traded for Seth Jones.
I don’t believe the core would be broken up if Dubas remains. That would mean he made a mistake in signing the “core 4”. He would not want to admit that.
