It's actually worse than that, because as soon as Lindholm is added to Ottawa, they're a better team. At least on paper. They should be better, at least. That makes the pick potentially even less valuable.

The value going Anaheim's way drops as soon as the trade is made. Considering there are only two pieces going Anaheim's way, and the only other piece is Ceci, that is a terrible move on Anaheim's part.

Didn't even consider that, that's very true. Lindholm-Karlsson could be the best pairing in the league (better to split them in different pairings but still).

lindholm for a top ten pick would be enough. Ceci is icing on the cake. I know it isn't exact but corey schnieder, who most consider a top 10 goalie in the league, went for 9 OA. I'm not disagreeing with ANA fans but if Lind is traded they are going to be up in arms unless the return is a superstar.

Lets trade a potential franchise defensemen who is already a #1 for a top ten pick that might work out.

Ana isnt trading Lindholm ,but this constant bashing on a 22 year old RHD in Ceci that still has tons of potential is a bit much.Ceci will grow into a very good two way defender that is capable of 35 to 40 points .He had 10 goals and 26 point last season without much pp time .He just gets overlooked because of whom we have in the number 1 RHD slot

so career high 34 points means youre close to a number 1? Sorry I agree he is a great player. I understand the reservations. but a #1 defender (in todays nhl) should be in the 50 point range with a similar +/-.

Lmao what the, not everyone is as crazy as Sweeney okay. :shakehead

Vancouver was forced to trade Schnieder. Even though everyone knew he was a stud and was going to BE a starter, he wasn't a true proven starter yet. Of course he lived up to the hype and became an elite goalie (IMO a top-3 goalie).

This is a totally different situation though, Lindholm is a top-20 D in the league IMO. You don't trade an already established #1D for a top-10 pick (it'll very likely be out of the top-10 pick if Lindholm joins their team).

When you are top 3 in every shot suppressing statistic that young and raise everyone you play with corsi numbers that much, yes.

he was 55th in points, 62nd in plus minus. keep telling me hes a top 20 D. His CORSI is great. I admit that.

Value wise:
Stone+Ceci > Lindholm > Stone > Ceci + 1st

As for signing Lindholm. Where does Anaheim get the cap space?
Bieksa is impossible to move, and Stoner doesnt create enough space for Lindholm.

Their only real option is to move Bernier AND Stoner. But who needs Bernier at 4.100?

Don't use plus/minus, it's not a great tool to judge/compare players.

And what does that have to do with anything? If you look a little deeper, you'll see:

- Last year he had an unlucky on-ice sh% and a low PDO (unlucky). Accoridng to stats.hockeyanalysis he only had 9 even strength points. You can't judge him off of that one unlucky year.
- But the years before? He had 25 points EACH. He was 4th (in 13-14) and 11th (in 14-15) in 5v5 points/60 (ahead of Doughty, Weber, Keith, etc)
- His possession numbers and defensive numbers are among the top defenders in the league.

For those reasons and several other reasons, he's a top-20 defender IMO. I think he could get harder minutes tbh to let Fowler play easier minutes.

I don't think this is terrible value wise ... but pretty sure Ducks need a winger ......

Ottawa has a winger they could offer for Lindholm....

Kind of hilarious that we are into the season and Anaheim still hasn't signed him yet. If that doesn't burn bridges with the guy...

I'd offer up

Hoffman + Ceci + Paul + 2nd
for
Lindholm + Stoner + Silfverberg

but that's probably the most I would offer. And, it would **** up the Sens salary wise (even if we could trade Stoner). So, it's probably pure fantasy on my part.

The Ducks need to clear salary, and the Sens can't take too much on. If we made a trade like that, we'd be in the same position as the Ducks - unable to sign Lindholm, but with Stoner and Silfverberg instead of Hoffman, Ceci and Paul.

I rescind my offer, and kindly suggest this thread be abandoned.

ducks dont need ceci and that pick will only get worse if the sens added lindholm.

Gm should get fired if he did a trade like that.
