I don't really see Ceci as that appealing. He seems more like a 4-5 guy right now, based on the limited viewings I have, and I think Anaheim has a better alternative in Jacob Larsson. If we're moving Vatanen, and I'm hoping Murray can figure this out without moving those 3 particular D, I'd want a more attractive piece. A 4-5 defenseman, even if he has the potential to be better, doesn't do much for us. Especially when it's Vatanen going the other way.

The fact the other piece is Borowiecki, who is also a defenseman, makes it worse.

I think the point here is that the trade proposal doesn't seem to consider Anaheim's needs at all, and the pieces themselves aren't even that impressive. I'd be unhappy if we moved Vatanen alone for that. But Cogs too? And having Stoner in it as a cap dump doesn't do enough for the imbalance.

some top quality rationalization here. Whether or not the goalie bailed Ceci out doesn't change that those were 4 brutally bad plays that led to great scoring chances for the wings. Again, that many mistakes in a single game is not typical for a guy you say is a good young top 4 defenseman

Ceci has had a rough start to the season and adjusting to this new system, but that doesn't negate the solid play for the rest of his career.

He has shown in an extended period of time he is a solid #4, with high potential to be a #3.

Ceci is on a cheap bridge deal which should be easier for Anaheim to fit under the cap.

Sens find a perfect partner for Karlsson.

Thoughts?

Cecil might be on cheap bridge deal, but he is a lousy Dman.
