How can you overpay for Lindholm?

Explain.

Mark Stone alone is enough. Massively underated around here, since elevated to a top 6 role in December of 2014 his ppg is in the top 15 in the NHL over that time period.

His positive affect on his linemates is almost unmatched when you look at Turris, Pageau and Smith's career PPG compared to playing with him.

2nd on team Canada in scoring at the World championships despite inexplicably being started on the 4th line highest corsi rating on the team. Led team canada WJC in scoring.

Double the take aways of any player in the NHL last year.

I am fine with how underated he is every player on Ottawa is discounted around here.

Ceci is already a top 3 D man its not a what if.

So what you are trying to say is...

Ceci is a #3.

Stone is a game-breaking winger.

What do you view Lindholm as?

22 year old top 3 D man and a shot at number 1/ a top 10 pick. Ok.

The 1st round pick's value is too uncertain. Yes, it could be a 1st overall. It could also be 12th overall. That's a huge gap.

Ceci is not a top 3 defenseman right now. He has the potential to be one but at this point he's nothing more than a decent 2nd pairing defenseman.

I see him developing into an above average 2nd pairing defenseman, which can be considered a #3 defenseman, but he's not there yet.

What do you call a #3?

A decent(is say pretty good) 2nd pairing defenseman who's right handed and 22.

He's Ottawa's #3 because of Karlsson. The #2 is Karlsson's partner.

What do Duck fans think he could realistically get?

I don't think this is terrible value wise ... but pretty sure Ducks need a winger ...... and need to lose a Dman ( or lose in expansion ) .... also they are in win now mode and don't need picks

they will find a better fit trade ..... but don't see them trading him , they will trade someone else

I don't know...Ceci and the 12th overall for Lindholm might not be bad.

It's not like Anaheim would be paying Lindholm's contract.

Oh, please. We are giving up a defenseman that Anaheim thinks has a franchise ceiling. In return for that we're getting a draft pick that if we're lucky might end up being the same in a few years and a defenseman that does little for us.

I think fans are undervaluing Ceci. Top 4 dman with lots of room to grow.

Anaheim's deepest position is D. They have players on par with Ceci. They have one player on par with Lindholm. It's not a matter of undervaluing.

Depends really but we don't need a dmen back... and in all honesty if we're not forced to trade him we won't.

The players I would for sure trade him for are matthews eichel mcdavid.... most everyone else I'd be hesitant. Lindholm is turning into the exact player we need and shold build our team arounds.

I feel like his value is very high because there is no need or want for us to move him. Really no point discussing it cause other teams won't like our answers

How does Ceci do little for Anaheim?

How does that pick not be valueable for a budget team??

Either pick, or deal it for a need.

Anaheim does not need a player like Ceci. That is not a need. That you don't grasp what Anaheim has in its system doesn't change that.

We are giving up a defenseman with franchise ceiling. Just because you've convinced yourself that the cost of that is a player that tops out as a 2/3 defenseman and a 1st round pick doesn't make it so.
