Howden has surpassed most expectations from a point production standpoint, and what Pionk and ADA have done has been more special than we realize.
But the downside is that it creates the expectation for more eye-catching numbers for other young talent. In this case, it’s created the expectation for Chytil and Andsersson to put up points.
But I don’t think that’s inherently the best barometer for success when it comes to our two youngest NHL players. I don’t think we can hold them to quite the same expectations.
I’m more focused on whether they look out of place and whether they are getting more comfortable. Not flawless by any stretch, but comfortable. For the most part, I think both guys have looked at least fairly okay. But I’ve never quite felt that either guy looked out of his league or like he couldn’t hang — even if the numbers weren’t leaping off the page.
