Me too..

But don’t mistakenly let that be a distraction to the fact that Al Bundy once scored 4 touchdowns in a single game for Polk High School Panthers in 1966 versus Andrew Johnson High School, including the game-winning touchdown in the final seconds against his old nemesis, “Spare Tire” Dixon Bubba Smith.
Peg's.......Al Bundy or the serial killer? Was his name Al? Lol.

When Howden comes back I want a first line of Lias - Howden - Chytil and 30 mins a night, full 2 mins of the pp.
Let’s stop ****ing around and put this rebuild into maximum overdrive.
I so can see this happening, eventually. Minus maybe 10 minutes and 45 seconds less on pp. Otherwise......I just cannot wait!

I'd love to go with this:

Kreider-Zibanejad-Lias
Namestnikov-Hayes-Zuccarello
Vesey-Chytil-Buchnevich
Fast-Lettieri-McLeod

I want to see Lias and Zib build on the chemistry from Denmark

This might sound crazy, but here goes.
I like above 1st two lines, with these being the 3rd and 4th.
Lettieri/Chytil/Buch
Fast/Andersson/Vesey

My thinking is.....Vinny has been destroyed here because he hasnt gotten on the scoresheet. Remember he, (more than anyone) has been hogtied to Mcleod, so give him one more solid chance with better linemates.

Demote Vesey (so to speak) to 4th line, so that Lias can be afforded Vesey's better play and Jesper.....who is Jesper. Vesey probably would do well with them and playing RW, might give him better looks, while affording Quinnie the chance to roll 4 lines. I believe that may be Quinnie's goal, as most coach's should, especially during reg. season. Okay, fire away.

If people honestly think McLeod will be a healthy scratch for an extended period this season, they will be in for a surprise.
I agree. And frankly for where he has been playing and the amount of minutes he has been playing, he has not been too bad. Makes himself noticeable.

To a point. Mclead however is not the reason he has not only not shot the puck but also has basically been invisible.

Double shifting Lias then?

Vinny is ‘being destroyed’ here because he’s not an NHL-caliber player right now.

The recall might be too early since he did very well in AHL with Wolfpack and I really enjoyed his player development with the pack, but we will see how Lias do it now under a different coach and system with Quinn.

Both in the EHT in Pardubice and the early games in Copenhagen Lias played RW on the Zib line with Rakell on the left

As someone who recorded stats during this tournament, I can tell you that this is wrong. He played on a line with Kempe and Everberg, who both assisted on his first goal in the tournament for the Swedes, which was a thing of beauty. :thumbu:
As @NewLife rightly indicated - Zib played the whole tournament together on a line with Janmark & Rakell.
Nevertheless v cool that he finally got recalled, didn't make sense in the first place to send him down.

How was he yesterday?
Took a few dumb/avoidable high sticking penalties, almost had a good snipe on Price, and generally played well, IMO.

Going off of counting stats, at 5v5, Lias had 10:24 TOI, 43.75 CF% and -4.53 relCF%, 54.55 SF% and +7.67 relSF%, 57.14 SCF% and +8.57 relSCF% (all this from NST)

Looking at the fancy stats abbreviations feels like I'm reading a foreign language. I have no idea which ones to put value into and what the hell they represent.
CF% - Corsi For %: It's just the percentage value of shot attempts for vs shot attempts against while the player is on the ice, with 50+ being on the ice for more shot attempts for.
SF% - Shots For % - This is the same concept as above, but just recorded "shots" instead of all attempts.
SCF% - Scoring Chances For % - Again, same concept as above, but in terms of what Natural Stat Trick (the database I'm pulling from) considers a "scoring chance."

The "rel" (short for relative) portions are measuring the difference between the players on-ice performance as compared to the team's performance when he's on the bench. A positive "rel" is indicative of the team plays worse when a specific player is not on the ice.

So, from these 6 stats, you can derive that while Lias was on the ice, the team was slightly out-attempted by the opposing team, though slightly better while he was on the bench (due to his negative rel%). But, the team had better actual shot counts and scoring chances than the opposing team when he was on the ice, and due to his positive rel%, the team performed worse in those categories when he was on the bench.

All in all, a good night for Lias.

That's a great breakdown thank you. Those are the one I see the most so that will help.

He’s an awful player. Has no business in the nhl. He should be grateful for the 10 game check he’s gotten at this level. More money than he should ever see

I watched the TSN feed of the game last night here in Canada . They obviously had Hab announcers covering the game . I think...but am not 100 % positive that it was Mike Johnson doing the color commentary . He made an awful comment on Lias Andersson that just blew me away . He said..." Lias Andersson is a JERK " !!! No lie...that was the exact words that came out of his mouth . Geesh...I could not believe it . I mean sure he tossed the medal...and probably not the greatest move ever...but not so deserving that he gets labeled a jerk IMO . I hope TSN sets him down and has him cool it...but I am not holding my breath . Did anybody else hear that comment ?
