Good point I completely forgot about him being on that Dallas team. I guess there is a chance! Let’s hope we actually give him a shot

a 4th of Simmonds-spezza- Perry would be nice!

See that's a reason I actually didn't want Simmonds, at least not in a rush like this. None of them PK

I would have rather worked off of X-Spezza-Perry and ideally find a guy on the 4th line that could PK because as of now, Engvall, Soup, Marner and Kerfoot (if he doesn't go in expansion) are our only forwards that PK.

There is literally no risk here. I know everyone is mad still and rightfully so, but this is ok. Just don't sign Thornton please.

I'll take that line if we have a 3rd line of Goodrow Kuraly Coleman.
No AAV $$$ for that line .. would be nice but likely not realistic .. Barclay looking to get some $$$ in his last contract .. Coleman will get 2M per .. Kuraly would be a solid pickup at 1.5M per AAV but likely he resigns .. Tampa will lose both as they can't keep anyone but league minimum and they are gonna take a bath unloading Johnson too - a couple 1st rounders going other way .. between 2 Barclay may come home at 2M AAV for 4-5 years with $$$ upfront

Am neither happy or sad about this signing. if he can bring some jam to his game and be a shit disturber it might work out.

the only player we had besides Hyman who would go to the net, take the beating and create havoc in the opposition blue paint. one can only hope that his energy rubs on the money mitch but... hope and leafs are not a good combo
Trust me, you don't want "Money Mitch" playing like Wayne Simmonds at his size. I think producing in crucial games would benefit Marner though, as well as the Leafs.

Gross

But I can live with it if his usage is actually based on merit and they are fine with waiving him/sending him up and down throughout the season - but last season would indicate that won't be the case

Why would a player want to sign before the expansion draft?

His contract is guaranteed no matter where he plays. :)

This actually might be quite strategic on Simmonds part as it does make him more desirable to an expansion team.

Maybe Dubas is hoping he is claimed, and that would then protect losing Kerfoot or Dermott etc perhaps, but an expansion team might see right through that ploy.

900k, hard to really complain there. He’s a good fourth line player who can step into a third line role if needed.

Lmao, Simmonds will not even be considered by Seattle. Not sure why people are wasting time even thinking that’s a possibility.

Projecting Kuraly at 1-1.5M
Goodrow probably around 1.75-2.5M (I wouldn't go beyond 2M)
Coleman 3-4M

Without Hymie and Kerfoot we should have room.

Coleman probably gets more than $2m. Agreed Bruins do not let Kuraly walk. I'd be OK with Goodrow and Coleman @5+.

I like all 3 of those, think Coleman gets 4+ so that likely prices him away from here, but Goodrow would be a great addition for us, adds a little of everything the team lacks.

that's fine I guess. it's not like we have too many prospects ready to make the jump. Other than Brooks and Robertson, we don't have many NHL caliber forward prospects.

Barclay is most likely of 3 to come here
Kuraly will resign
Coleman will go to highest offer in UFA and get more then he is worth

Goodrow has the best chance, I would give him 2M x4 years
Kuraly is actually not getting offered a contract according to a few Boston writers or at least they believe he won't.
Some whispers that Coleman may like to go to Dallas, family connections.

Yes...and if we got Goodrow...no real point of getting Simmonds lol.

I hear Kuraly and bruins have verbally agreed at/near 1.5M for 3 years
At 5M for Coleman and Barclay longer term then 6M left for 5 guys with Seattle taking Dermy
But Coleman Kerfoot Barclay would be a sweet 3rd line for us best one in many many years

If we can't get Coleman then you use the money on a better #3C like Haula, Janmark, Pacquette, Wennberg at around $2m. $6+m should get you a much better #3 line even if you keep 65 or 47 but not both.
