Dude looked fantastic next to Fox for a year or two before inexplicably falling off a cliff. They're hoping he can re-gain form.
His falloff was so weird. I'll be curious to see how he handles the change of scenery. If it goes well, he could be an interesting option in the summer (yes, I know he's another lefty, but I could still be interested at the right price).

I would like to see Johnson get a solid chance. I thought he played well with Power.
Agreed. The guy is in his D+6 season. He also played half a year in the NHL last year and I thought he looked just fine. It's time to get a look at him. To be honest, I don't really understand why he's only gotten 3 games this year. There are a few players we've given lots of minutes to that I would have rather seen go to RyJo.

If we trade Byram we can sign Lindgren to play with Rasmus.

Well yeah, I meant if he's good in Colorado.
I imagine in Colorado he'll be playing a lesser role though.

It could be that he's OK in a bottom pairing role, but not as a top minute guy playing with the #1. He looked like that guy with Fox a few years ago, but not since, and in Colorado he's not going to be playing with Makar. So expecting he could play with Dahlin might be a gamble, and we've been burned on that with D-men in the past hoping they could play a bigger role than what they did on previous teams (Miller, Clifton).

It seems like anyone can play with Dahlin and the metrics of this pair are good. Even Jokiharju showed metrics no worse than Byram - Dahlin, although I didn't really like this pair. Lindgren definitely has experience playing in the first pair and more than one season, I have no idea why he wasn't good this season, but as I understand it, all the Rangers' defensemen were bad, even Fox was not ideally, maybe the problem is in Housley, who coaches their defense, or in Laviolette and his system, something broke.

Last year in Rochester, they worked him a lot on the right side. Partly because they didn’t have enough right handed defenseman, but also because I think they were trying to figure out if he could be the defensive cover for someone further up the lineup. The issue this year is that in the time that he has been in Buffalo, he was not good nor were the pairings that he was on. Granted the entire team was a hot steaming pile of runny dog shit in most of those games, but still…

This season in Rochester it’s almost exclusively on the left side.

Lindgren appears to be mostly cooked from all of the times he’s played through injuries. I don’t think he makes a very good first pairing defenseman anymore. You need to find a guy who hasn’t yet become Lindgren rather than getting the ghost or the reputation of what he used to be.

Why not add a proven vet, for example, of course you can find someone, but Adams doesn’t do things like find the next Forsling or Kovacevic. In general, I really want to see Gavrikov in Buffalo, but of course this is unlikely.

Only a few games because of health. Not calling him up to br in the PB

If they trade Joker then I see him called up.

I see him as a bottom pair/7D

If nyquist at 50% then Zucker and grernway get a 2nd+ or a 1st

Put this in the GDT but figured it should go here as well.

Scratching Joki at this point is more just "again, so?" than thinking it's some big move. I would expect he does go though probably still for something like a 4th or 5th rounder. The constant evaporation of value for this team... it's like they are a collection of winnebagos and they start losing value the moment Buffalo has their rights. :biglaugh:

Must be nice to have a GM.

Just think, their GM interviewed in Buffalo when Botts got the job. Still have a hard time thinking he can do what he's done there here with the likes of these folks supporting him in Florida -

That's a bunch of people who have experience as GM's, scouts, player agents, highly regarded analytics minds and generally sound hockey people. Buffalo doesn't have that and doesn't foster that and until they do, they're just an unserious team lead by an unserious owner who thinks he still knows better after 14 years of stepping on his dick.

So maybe (almost wrote likely) tomorrow I would think we might hear something ? I have hope there is more to it in a bigger deal. That or Adams got paranoid when Zucker broke his foot and is holding Hank out for the week.

Whomever kidded that Joker will be the only trade may actually have it right ? If Zucker is out with a foot, it will be at least a few weeks, "perhaps" Greenway extends, Byram stays through summer, and thats the deadline.

They will likely feel they can't get the right value for brainless. Tuch and Peterka likely just motivation talk (leaks).

Why is Joker getting rewarded? He should be forced to suffer with the rest of them.

Teams should line up to get Joker...Odds are wherever he is traded to wins the cup. :)

I'm not really sure what's going on with him, so I'd be careful here and want to get more information.
I expected more from EP40 once Miller was gone and it hasn't happened. I would still be interested but not without Vancouver retaining 25%
