Insert *players*. High stick it to ALL refs and watch them flinch. Call for embellishment on all of them. Feed garbage zebras to the lions. Maybe just send 'em to Leafs square on game 7 ... in their strips.

What's infuriating is that there are fans that watch this same precise thing happen each and every year, 6 times in a row, and still act like it's irrational "negativity" to be honest about what's happening with this team.
so leave. Go cheer for another 'motr rational' fanbase. The Leafs played great tonight and probably should have won.

What I don't understand is how you give one team a 5-3 on extremely questionable calls on one end and don't call blatant trips, elbows, high sticks on the other.

Either you're putting them away because you don't wanna decide the game or youre calling it down the middle. This series, this entire season has been a f***ing joke when it comes to the refs.
I'm tired of getting f***ed by them.

And I'm tired of 'i told ya so' and 'realist' fans kicking this team and its fans when they're down. Go somewhere else and be a POS since we can't use the other word.

Marner is obviously not trash my anger is exclusive to this game only, but why choose this game out of all to fall into bad habits? Bunting was crashing the net all game and he spun off the shot instead and held it.

This guy better go magic mitch in game 7.

The issue is, it doesnt matter how well we played tonight we lost. This game was winnable and we should have finished them off. Now we have to go back to trusting the Leafs to not completely collapse in Game 7.

Anyone claiming this was the cores fault is a moron honestly they all played well. We are playing the 2 time champs and we're grinding them into dust in that OT.

If anyone was at fault it was the zebras and maybe kerfoot...

This is the kind of game you envision your team losing in a best of 7 series against the defending champions. Hard fought, momentum swings, heroic goals from the big guns, etc. Let's see if they have the mettle to apply all the lessons in a big Game 7 takedown of the Lightning.

(That said, I'd rather just sim forward and watch for updates on my phone instead of actually watching this).

Leafs have without a doubt been the better team so this was a tough loss.
Really shouldn’t scapegoat anyone, it was a 1 shot overtime where we outplayed Tampa again. Just need to seal the deal at home. That’s why you play for home ice. I still think Tampa is playing on borrowed time. They look like they are just surviving. Need to end them.

I'm pissed for you guys. I can't stand the Lightning and the refs missed blatant calls against them in OT. I think the Leafs win if they get at least one of those called for a power play based on how they dominated.

Also, Marner was trying to do way too much. He kept making one too many moves instead of keeping it simple. I really hope the Leafs kick ass in Game 7.

Wonder if Campbell will give up a soft icebreaker in game 7, this goalie and team are so hard to predict.

It's game 7 and it's the Leafs.

I'd say it's a pretty predictable yes to me.

When was the last time we had a goalie stand on his head in a series clinching game?

Like 20 years.

Refs were bad, but can't use that excuse for the Leafs choking. Kerfoot literally hand delivered the game to Tampa Bay, not hyperbolic, but actual LITERALLY handed them the game. Phantom call, meh, mistakes happen, can't blame bad calls when you hand Tampa the game on a silver platter like that.

Leafs didn't get any big saves when they needed it most, difference maker as far as I'm concerned. Campbell was meh.
Negative. Why even watch the next game GQ.

If they ever win you'd still find something to shit on them about.

They played well, didn't see overwhelmed by the moment. Came back from 2 down, seemed fine until the 5-on-3 PK. But that's the thing, it's always something, or more typically someone that costs them a chance to win.

I still think they can win Saturday but it just seems like destiny that no matter how well they play someone on this roster will pull a Gardiner, Galchenyuk, Sandin, Dermott, Marner or Kerfoot and cost them the game.

I thought, honestly, the Leafs played a very good game. this was the tightest game that they played - and they basically went shot for short. yes the Leafs made some mistakes, but it wasnt like Tampa didn't either. they didn't choke it away. they played well enough to win - but a bad call, and there she blows. so play like this on Saturday, and win. that's all.

stop trying to pass the puck into the net during OT. Greasy goals....nope we are going to be fancy to finish off.

Oh wait the 2x cup champs throw it to the net and get a shitty goal.

That sums up the Leafs and loser mentality.

Absolutely this. Far too cute instead of making smart plays.

It's OT - you need a shot on goal and a greasy rebound.

I really don't know what to say here.
I'm just f'n floored right now.
Soon as they called the 5-3 i knew the jig was up. I really do feel sorry for the boys after this loss. They deserved better or at least a reasonable chance to close it out but...........well you all watched how it played out. :dunno:

We are on a 5 on 3 Kerfoot had no business engaging in battle with a guy who is 6’5. You’re losing that battle. Dump, come back and defend. That is the problem with these guys, no matter what the situation is they do not keep it simple.
We apparently shouldn't be engaging anybody. Ever.

Just take out lumps and beg for more.
