Like I said in the GDT. If we want to win anything this spring, Jumbo Joe has to be the odd man out when Will Nye returns and Foligno joins the team.

I don’t care if he’s a hall of famer, I don’t care if it comes off as a slap in the face to a legend who brings leadership to the team. If you think that way, that’s a “Participation award” and “everybody gets a trophy” kind of mentality.

The guy is shot and has nothing left. Outside of the first couple of weeks of the season, he’s been Marleau in his 3rd year level bad.

If he wants to win a Cup he will be a team player and honest about the limits of his game. Pride can get in the way, he's never been fleet of foot, but he lately seems slower with his stick and decisions.

I'm not the coach, so he will have to decide which players provide the best shot come playoffs.

The clogged up ice we saw tonight is what we will see in the playoffs.

Sit Thornton, sit Simmonds, and for the love of god, take Rielly off the powerplay.

I don't get how you can go 1 for 36 with 3 goals against and roll out the same units. It's evident they need Nylander.

I can only assume Malhotra is scared to take Rielly off point and go 5 forwards. Wants to be one of the boys.

As much as it sucks to lose, and I don't think it was all his fault, but it's refreshing to see a goalie take responsibility for not playing his best.

Reset. Let's get back after it.

Jumbo can bring his voice & good character to practice, he's hurting them in games; it's too much to try and accommodate & shelter him in the lineup.

Maybe with some rest he can keep up with the pace of the game again, but until then he should not be apart of the top 12 forwards dressing nightly.
I don't know why they don't just give Jumbo 5 minutes a game. He can go all out for that 5 and maybe contribute again. He's just being worn out for no reason.

Yeah Campbell strikes me as the kind of guy to go study every goal he let up and figure out what to do better next time.

This one was probably our first stinker in a while from puck drop where we just didn’t have anything and yet we were within a goal to win it.

We’re going to run over the Habs in the playoffs lol.

Thornton just tossing lazy passes into the middle of the ice because his legs can't keep up.

Also, why does Keefe insist on continuing the Babcock trend of pulling the goalie early, WITHOUT possession of the puck?!
Agreed and it's not like we have been great with the man advantage for the last month or so.

Well when they watch the video on this one they'll know who to take out for Nylander and Foligno.

Who wants to come out for Nash in the playoffs?

Probably the first game the power play has lost them points, time to figure it out.

The streak unfortunately had to end at some point. Definitely a bit of a downer to this one in terms of effort at times. Move on and move forward. Excited to see what Rittich can do with this team. Campbell will undoubtedly bounce back for his next start.

-Rielly has been so bad on the PP. The inability to move the puck to his right hand side seems like a glaring technical issue that teams are either keying in on now and exploiting. Just take away his space and he'll drift left, throw the puck left or lob it towards the net with his muffin shot. Nothing is working for him right now.

I feel like this can also be applied to Marner. Guys are just swarming Marner and he is either giving it up, deferring to Rielly, making a pass down low that gets swarmed, or taking a weak desperation shot.

It's like they always have 3 guys going up against 2 of our own. No idea what the forwards are doing but it is on them too. Rielly and Marner have to have places to move the puck besides to each other, and if they are playing our point guys so aggressively, then there should be a lot of space open for our other guys, but they have to move their feet to get to that space. Seems like the low guys are way too stationary right now.

Our 3 low guys on the PP don't move their feet at all. They wait for the puck to come to them and make it way too easy for the PK guys to just swarm Marner and Rielly, or Muzzin/Brodie and Spezza on the 2nd PP. It's not like one unit sucks. It's both units. Both are doing the same thing and facing the same issues.

So I know Rielly is the scapegoat for a lot of things right now, especially the PP, but if he was really that big of an issue then the 2PP would have scored a goal by now. It's not like they haven't had opportunities and even if they aren't expected to score often, they haven't scored a goal in 2+ months even with a bunch of different guys on that unit (including a shot from the point in Muzzin). The few times we have scored, it was the top PP.
