The good thing is today's game shows how important Nylander is. Yet some portion of our fans think Nylander is lazy, and to trade him for a 3rd liner who blocks shots

Morgan Rielly needs to get off Quaterbacking the powerplay
Joe Thornton needs to get off the power-play. Both are gross. Dermott has more quickness and the flow is gone from the point. That’s about all i can see wrong with it.
Put two defensemen back on the point even. The amount of odd man rushes and pucks not being kept in at the point is a league thing.
Are these coaches idiots anymore. The powerplay worked for a hundred years with Two defense and they can’t try it anymore? I question their concepts when it’s this bad this long. It’s blank,void of anything from the points.
P!ss poor game by everyone anyways

Leafs need to get more shooters on the PP. Every damn team in the league knows its going to matthews cuz no one else has the balls to let it rip.

What's important about running the table on Montreal to finish the season is you don't want to give them a viable road map to complete with us in the playoff series. If they want to try trapping us in our own zone, you have to find a way to breakout with speed and short passes to burn them and if they want to be physical against our stars things have to get nasty for them. You can't empower them to play the way they want to and feed that confidence. Leafs have to want to crush them next time we play.

The Leafs just traded for a 3rd liner that blocks shots yesterday without giving up Nylander for him! Crazy!

I'd be scared for my health. Montour makes Rielly look like Lidstrom defensively while Ritchie doesn't do anything at all. Literally the Bruins version of Kassian in regards to riding coattails.

This team has really lost its strength of speed through the neutral zone with all these vets they've added that can't skate the puck or chase it down very well. Didn't help that they were missing Nylander tonight who can help with that. I'm not in favour of all these guys starting every night, rest some of them on certain days and rotate them.

One encouraging thing though is that they were pretty determined to chase this game back down, with the big division lead they have and this game being in the later point of the season, it would've been easy to have gotten complacent but they tried pretty hard to come back, not sure wtf this threat title of "lacking effort" is talking about, lazy take.

Max effort in a meaningless game can get them a win when we bring our C game.

I suppose. Willy is awesome getting pucks through with possession. That’s been taken away from him with the ridiculously over used drop pass.

Montreal wanted it more. Toss this but learn from it. I’ve learned that:

Thornton offers NOTHING on the ice.
The PP cannot have Thornton and Simmonds on the same line.
Reilly is really mediocre defensively and on the PP.
The defence has to be more defensively responsible and not gamble as much
Some of these guys need a rest

Every friggin time. The guys a pathetic point man. Watch him from a standing start against quickness from others. He’s slowed down man. This isn’t the same skater, he’s all bulk and slowed now. He should consider getting himself down 15 pounds to get his quickness back. Fumbles the puck and makes more bad reads than anyone on the team
 
Not going to be too upset. We were due for a stinker. This is only maybe our 3rd stinker which is quite impressive.
No need for Joe to play tomorrow. Get Lilly in as well.
