We aren’t serious contenders until we fix that abomination of a PP.
So much skill yet we flat out suck
So much skill yet we flat out suck
Like I said in the GDT. If we want to win anything this spring, Jumbo Joe has to be the odd man out when Will Nye returns and Foligno joins the team.
I don’t care if he’s a hall of famer, I don’t care if it comes off as a slap in the face to a legend who brings leadership to the team. If you think that way, that’s a “Participation award” and “everybody gets a trophy” kind of mentality.
The guy is shot and has nothing left. Outside of the first couple of weeks of the season, he’s been Marleau in his 3rd year level bad.
I smell another loss tomorrow night !!! 6 in a row was too good to be true with this Leafs team !!! I'm sick and tired of no name average paid players looking like stars while our stars barely show up !!!
I was against signing Marleau, and I was even more against signing Thornton !!! Babcock overplayed Marleau, now Keefe is overplaying Thornton !!!
Ridiculous poor D from Rielly. He IS NOT a number 1 D !!! He should have been packaged for a REAL number 1 D today !!!

Other thoughts:
-Thornton is really bad. You don't want to hammer on a good human story there, but can we just play him 9 minutes and let him lead on the bench and in the room? He looks like a table hockey hockey guy who is skating on a rail, swat the puck wildly and can spin around 360 but that's about it.
-Robertson was buzzing but not really ready to have an impact. He looks really busy and wants to be in the mix, but I think when he gets going for real he's going to have to relax and not chase the game as hard as he does.
-Rielly has been so bad on the PP. The inability to move the puck to his right hand side seems like a glaring technical issue that teams are either keying in on now and exploiting. Just take away his space and he'll drift left, throw the puck left or lob it towards the net with his muffin shot. Nothing is working for him right now.
-Tavares looks good. His touch around the net has been kinda janky but I think that's his style and he scored a big one for us to make it 2-2.
-Campbell might be coming back down to earth a bit, but some of the big saves in the third gives me hope he's still battling hard. Rittich may be a very important addititon to give us more of a platoon option and to help Campbell.
-I joke about Manny Malhotra, but what exactly is he writing up for the troops on the attack? His PP planning is abysmal and the first PP we got tonight was a dog's breakfast PP2 Frankenstein unit. Galchenyuk on the point was suicidal.
-Galchenyuk is a nice story and I wish he had scored vs Montreal tonight, but he can also be a pretty low IQ player with his decisions with the puck. Harness his enthusiasm, size, and offensive touch, but beware.
-Matthews continues to score which is nice, and Marner made a great play to him on the first goal. Other than that the chemistry wasn't too good tonight.
I hate it more than anything literallyHate the habs. Don't like losing to the habs.
Not a big deal nor a bad loss. Real bad goal let in by Jack we couldn’t recover from. He’s earned a tough go. He’s still a beauty.
The bigger issue is that 42 games in and Rielly is continuing to get worse. I just don’t see where he fits on this team anymore. Huge, huge risk to take that he’s not regressing beyond return if we keep him.
Yeah she's like a 5To be fair most guys have a shot at Alison Brie but I understand your point.
Habs fan coming in peace. You guys still have a solid team.
