We’ll find out in the coming weeks how much that package could have landed the Leafs. This reeks of paying a 1st for Foligno then Hall going for a 2nd.
The Hall situation was quite unique.

it’ll be interesting to see what Kane and Meier go for.

This is the less sexy trade, but could be massive if ROR is healthy and excited to be here.

ROR might be agreeable to on extension possibly, and maybe that's why Dubas pulled the trigger
That may not be a good thing.

I would like to see how he performs before agreeing to an extension

This could be a classic case of a broken man

HOLY SMOKES! I just had a heart attack looking on Cap Friendly for this deal and saw that O'Reilly was going to Minnesota and yet they gave up so much just to get whoever Josh Pillar was. 🤯😲🤯😲🤯😲

Thankfully as my mind was trying to wrap itself around what was going on they updated the deal and it made more sense. 😂😆😂

Ok Dubas I’ve given you some grief but this trade addresses the grit and playoff (winning) experience we were sorely lacking. Should be interesting to see how Tampa reacts but I now feel we can legitimately beat them in the 1st round and got a shot against the Bruins in the 2nd

Accari in no way, shape or form should take Engvall or Kerfoots spot. This trade likely pushes Holmberg (sad) out of the lineup. My guess on Monday:

Bunting-Matthews-N/M
Kerfoot-Tavares-N/M
Engvall-O'Reilly-Jarnkrok
Accari-Kampf-ZAR

We're a better team today. If ROR is anywhere near what he was last year we're an even more ridiculous team.

I had it similar but:

Holmberg - ROR - Jarnkrok
Engvall - Kampf - Acciari

I don’t think anyone can justify sitting Holmberg for ZAR

Kane isn't going to be cheap either. He'll cost you a prospect.

Schen could be an option. We need some size at the back end. Kind of like bogo was

Gavrikov would be the most ideal. Will definitely cost Robertsson.

I honestly don’t think Kane will cost much. Maybe a prospect, but not one of the top four. At this point, he dictates, and if he wants to come to Toronto, it’s either take any asset, or he walks as a UFA for free. That must be clear by now. I think given the career he’s had for them, they’d appease him.

I like Schenn’s physicality. There seems to be enough demand for him to get a second in return. He’d be our 7th or 8th best D. What are you willing to pay for that?

I like Gavrikov even though he’s had a terrible year. I just don’t think he moves the needle enough to pay the two firsts they are allegedly asking. Are we sitting/moving Sandin or Giordano to give space for Gavrikov? Moving Sandin and then Gavrikov walking as a UFA would be a huge mistake.

It's a lot to give up but if he can help us in the playoffs it'll be worth it. We need someone like him, hopefully he's not past his prime completely yet. Being able to keep Knies is key here.

If we can get a LD with some size but is also decent like McCabe or Gabrikov, then the team will be definitely be contenders. Its still a little soft imo. Kerfoot could get dealt with Accari here now.
He's got one playoff left at least. From Clinton Ontario. He'll be good to go.
