Holmberg was nice at first but wasn;t anything special as time went on. Was a good stop gap. We needed playoff grit and experience. Hoping Kerfoot is gone and replaced with Knies

Bunting - Mathews - Nylander
Knies - Tavares - Marner
Engvall - Orielly - Jarnkrok
ZAR - Kampf - Acciari

Now we talking
Holmberg should still be playing on the wing. He's been good.
It’s a good trade, O’Reilly is a playoff player. This isn’t like the Foligno at all IMHO. The team is close so who cares about picks now, do what it takes to win
They kinda have to. This is their last kick at the can.

I will say the ROR and Acciari are actual playoff type players. That's a great step in the right direction. Another playoff dman, with preferably shite fancy stats might actually get us to the 2nd round (at least).
You already knowsire. That that domi tucker roberts neauwendyk sundin reichel pat quinn type of shit right thurr. Lamoriello lemieux type of ass. RIGHT SHIT. I LOVE LIFE. AND SUNDIN QUINN BR conferense final type of dirt.

I'm not. Not saying I'm upset by it but I personally don't believe ROR has much left in his tank and I'm super skeptical about his ability to stay healthy.
The numbers definitely don't look impressive to the eye. Have to hope the change of scenery and chance to play in some big games again will work wonders.

Damn. That's a ballsy move. I hope these boys can perform. Big risk with O'Reilly but he might have some gas left. We collecting all the Irish boys round here. Shades of Burke lol. I'm honestly surprised Dubas!

Love it. Injury risks not withstanding, there were other teams who were going to pay a similar price, and we may have paid a premium to do it sooner rather than later to give us some time for them to find their groove in our system.

Have a feeling Holl is being played tomorrow to be showcased for something else; I can't imagine any sane GM walking into a playoff game with Holl in your top six, unless you're begging for a press conference after game seven as to why he went -4 and wasn't benched.

Foligno wasn't killed because of injuries. He was not a top 6 caliber forward for years before we got him and he was doing exactly what he was capable of doing... Which was not a lot. Of course injuries kept him out of the lineup, but it is not exactly like the Leafs were gaining a lot with him in anyways.

ROR is a top 6 caliber forward. It is a lot for a rental... Especially if we don't keep him. Acciari covers Gaudette and the 3rd rounder so it is Abramov, a 1st, a 2nd, and a 4th to get him... I mean if the cost for Foligno is 1st, 4th, 4th then this makes sense but I don't think Foligno was worth that either.

Eh

The 1st stings

The 2nd is next year at least.

No roster players or prospects lost

We add two guys who can be VERY impactful in the right roles. I’m happy
We’ll find out in the coming weeks how much that package could have landed the Leafs. This reeks of paying a 1st for Foligno then Hall going for a 2nd.

The challenge is the D ask is very expensive. The other challenge is that they have to be an upgrade over what we have already. Honestly, there isn’t much other there that achieves that. Chychrun? Ekholm? McCabe is a physical improvement, but not really much better than Holl, though I know the Holl haters will yell at me. Maybe I’m wrong, who knows.

Kane isn't going to be cheap either. He'll cost you a prospect.

Schen could be an option. We need some size at the back end. Kind of like bogo was

Gavrikov would be the most ideal. Will definitely cost Robertsson.

Accari in no way, shape or form should take Engvall or Kerfoots spot. This trade likely pushes Holmberg (sad) out of the lineup. My guess on Monday:

Bunting-Matthews-N/M
Kerfoot-Tavares-N/M
Engvall-O'Reilly-Jarnkrok
Accari-Kampf-ZAR

We're a better team today. If ROR is anywhere near what he was last year we're an even more ridiculous team.

So what's playoff lineup prediction?

Bunting Matthews Nylander
Jarnkrok Tavares Marner
Knies ROR Kerfoot
Engvall Kampf Acciari

??
I might see how ROR looks on the 2nd with a Tavares style line created for the 3rd. If healthy he's going to see ice time in the playoffs.

He's the only player I wanted to see added. I think the main idea is to elevate the group more than his personal contributions. A final attempt to get the group to play playoff hockey.

Nice to get this done 2 weeks before deadline as well.

ROR against 3rd line match ups or ROR as a shutdown center. Both have massive advantages and really no downsides (besides injury but that risk is there with any player).
