Like this for the Habs. Get rid of a locker room cancer while adding some good young players. Having said that, I think Dubois does well in LA (even though I am not a fan).

Kings drafted Turcotte to be a top center for them. They then did the same with QB. Neither are panning out so far and it was hoped that one of them would replace Kopitar (mostly QB). Top centers do not come cheap.

We said we would never pay he market value. Seems you found a team that was willing to overpay for him. Win for us as it seems the management was never really that high on him Nice haul for him.
The you should have stayed out of the trade threads and abstained from trolling jets fans

Vilardi is a better risk than that 1rst.

Dubois will be good for the kings and it will end up a low first. Kings got the best player but they also gave a lot to do it.

Ya I meant Vilardi + 2024 1st for Dubois, WPG should have added something to cancel out 2nd + Kupari for a better asset back from LA.

I don't think it's a lot to be honest but as said in original post here, the best player wanted out and didn't have a lot of RFA control left.
Considering he did a sign and trade, it's a lot less than I expected.

It's going to be fun to look back on this thread when Dubois scores 80 points next season while Vilardi's 19% shooting regresses hard and Kupari is playing for the Moose.

He may finally get to a point per game but being in Winnipegs 1st PP and playing a lot with Connor and Scheifele still couldn’t get him there.

Assuming Dubois doesn't have another case of the sulks and Vilardi doesn't blossom, I like this for LA. Dubois should outperform what he's been so far there. And it's a far less sulkworthy situation so he shouldn't sulk. I don't think they gave up a whole bunch either.

Think Winnipeg did a decent job given where the trade market is assuming they want to cling onto being a bubble team.

If vilardi can stay healthy …. I think he is a really good player.

I know we talked about the possibility of getting him on our boards and a lot of posters were high on him. If his health issues are passed him, I think we get a very good top 6 player. I actually really like the sneaky pickups of Iaffalo and Kupari a lot more. Both of those guys will fit into Bones style of hockey very well.

I still think PLD is a great player and you guys are very likely to see his best years. LA got the best player so far and that is usually a good thing.

With all this nonstop reporting on him youd think PLD was a perenial all star talent. Never even scored more than 60ish pts despite having all star linemates the majority of his career and scoring rates going through the roof.

Dude is mid and over hyped

Thank you hockey gods for sparing Dorion from another mistake. (We all know another brutal trade coming from him)

This is a terrible deal for LA. Like really, 8 years x 8.5? PLD is a magician and a thief.

He'll probably do well in LA but you never pay for production in the future, you pay for what he has done already. Kings get hosed in this deal.

Chevy, take a bow - that was MASTERFUL!

Easily his best trade since being the Jets GM. Flat out robbed Blake.

Valardi and Iafalo are going to breakout in Winnipeg. Valardi with Connor on the same line and I think he puts up 90pts. I expect production between Valardi and PLD to be very close.

LOL Montreal went from having Dubois slam dunk, to Newhook who is busting quickly.

I'm also not convinced i would have targeted Vilardi as the main piece coming back. His injury history is very very worrisome.
