Pretty happy with the return considering the corner we were backed into!

LA got a decent deal too on the contract

Kings are obviously not done, they still need to sign a goalie and need defensemen right?
The dmen are likely Clarke and Spencer, or whomever that other dman is.

They need 1 forward, so some minimum salary dude, so they have about 2-2.5 mill for their goalie/goalie and upgrade on Copley.

If they do do an upgrade on Copley, he likely gets waived and they have more space to work with.

The Kings need a second goalie. They can't bury Copley. He's one of the goalies.

This can make some sense if Kopitar told Blake he does not plan to play for more than 2 more years. He may follow Brown's exit and want to spend more time with the kids and family.

This trade can also make some sense if Vilardi had no interest in a bridge deal to help with the Kings cap. The hope and expectation was he could be signed for 3-3.5. This may not have been the case.

The Jets did really well in this trade. Lets hope that due to underlying circumstances this was the best move the for Kings.
