Jesus Christ did you notice the score? I'm mad that doughty played as much as he did.

You also must have missed how dominate the 3rd line was all game. Sutter always plays the line that is performing more. Your position on this matter is asinine.

Further more it keeps weal out of the line up who just isn't ready. He's also not suited for the bottom 6.

It's this. When a line is playing well (i.e. possessing the puck in the offensive zone) Sutter gives them more ice time. No reason not to play King-Lewis-Brown big minutes last night. I am sure Sutter is trying everything he can to give Brown more confidence as well.

Nice to see Brown get rewarded with a goal last night. The guy is still a very useful, but overpaid hockey player.

i dont get the irrational hatred of King at all

he's the perfect bottom sixer who can play top line minutes in a pinch, and he's signed for pennies on the dollar relative to what he brings to the table

why on earth would we entertain the idea of moving him?

Kinger goal... Kinger goes from the boards to the front of the net and gets a softy.

Brown goal... Kinger is at the top of the crease forcing the Oilers D to cover him and causing commotion when Brown finds a loos puck.

Lewis goal.... Kinger gets the puck to Brown then takes 2 D with him to the net.

Guy is 230 likes going to the net and can finish. Kings size down low was causing issues for the Oilers last night and opening up a ton of space for his linemates.

Edit: Kinger back into the line up and Brown/Lewis increase their goals on the season by about 50%. Yes the Oilers suck, but there is no way you can say King didn't have an impact.

Just to be contrarian *******s.

I agree with paragraphs one and two..I would not shop him but in a deal for a top 4 RHD D signed to term or who is team controlled (RFA) I would not be opposed to it. So in other words for overpayment

Again i didn't miss anything Just the praise for him is out of hand. He played well against a crap team and people are thinking hes the answer to our scoring woes Forgive me if i don't agree one game does not do that for me especially against the oilers. Also THE LINE OF BROWN LEWIS KING WAS OUR 2ND LINE FOR THAT GAME NOT 3RD LINE. Maybe if i capitalize it people we realize that. (doubt it but worth a shot)
My position on calling a line that plays the 2nd most mins in a game our second line for that game is asinine really that is simply calling a spade a spade. not a heart.

You don't suppose it was anything to do with it being a back-to-back? Fresh legs and all. Plus the Brown-Lewis-King night was unstoppable, it would have been stupid to NOT play them more minutes no matter who the opponent was. You play well, you get rewarded.

No one is saying King is our saviour, just happy to get a guy back who clicks and has chemistry with the roster. His presence last night was obviously great. Nothing wrong with being happy for a guy who played a great game.

It stems from one poster in particular who believes, due to ice time in small sample sizes, King is a top-sixer on this team and we suck because of that. And it's not an opinion worth arguing against because despite about 100 posts of facts the mind was not being changed.

Those are some big guys: Lucic, Mersch, King, Nolan, and Kopitar. If Mersch continues to score, I say keep him up, even though before his goal last night he hasn't looked that great.

Weal is the guy that should be sent down IMO.

mersch is wavier exempt though, weal's not. maybe weal would clear, maybe not? people might remember his run with the monarchs to playoff mvp. or maybe kings want to see if they can get something for him in a package trade? not sure... also he's had about the same number of games as mersch in around 3 months as mm in about 3 weeks, with less mins on ice. i don't know if the look has been similar. wouldnt a player get better, i.e., find his role, with more consistent toi as opposed to 6 mins here or there? i think you could argue we've seen that with andreoff this year since he's been able to play more often and define his game, which he really didnt last season. then again, maybe he's a better fit with the kings/bottom six, and maybe mersch is too. i won't argue that. mersch has an excellent nose for net, though his skating could be worked on, maybe even at ahl level.

That's the word, right there.

I am glad to see King back.

The third line played more because in part this was the middle game of a three games in four nights stretch. The top 2 lines are hurt and gassed. I also had hoped to keep kopi and doughty's minutes down.

I am happy we got the production and minutes from king/lewis/brown. They are not going to be the second line every night but given the circumstances, I am glad they played like one.

King knows the system and he knows how the other guys on his line plays. I much prefer what we get with him than plugging in a call up that doesn't know either.

King is the best human being to breathe air in Staples Center. I'm hoping his return will convince the league to hand the Kings the cup a few months early.

Just an amazing #13 forward.

And he's a Clifford fan who doesn't like King getting more positive attention.

I'm highly critical of Brown (Herby level critical of Richards) and even I think he's really been playing well over the last little stretch. His confidence can't be high over the last couple of years. He can be an effective player on a line like wear they cycle and cycle and wear down the opposition.

personally i thought king played well and galvanized his linemates.

but i also don't see anything wrong with someone having a conflicting opinion. that's what blogs are for. and some people are fans of some players more than others. that's okay right?

There's nothing wrong with differing opinions. But there is something wrong with putting words into everyone's mouths constantly on the topic and twisting facts to push an agenda.

Yeah that's fine... I hated King in the top 6 for a long time... but then I hated Lewis in the top 6 more, so King got a pass. That and he has the best grin after he scores. Only one better was the redirect Matt Greene scored on... his face was priceless... first thought was, "I'm so getting benched for this."

King is really effective in the grinding game getting position along the wall and being able to get to the center of the ice from the wall.

Goals, assists, front of net presence, solid two way-hockey, good board work, who cares?

The Kings have a serial killer looking left wing who gives the best face washes in the NHL, once he returns King should be playing even less.

Have to admit, that did make me chuckle.

Dwight King is a darn good player, productive and cheap.

Hey I just watched the recap, noticed Doughty was wearing the A in Carter's absence. Is this the first time he's been given an A? I remember everyone discussing the likelihood of him ever being Captain awhile back, probably when the Brown trade rumors were flying, but the consensus then was he was far from mature enough, threw too many fits, etc. Seems like he has calmed his temper a bit, aka growing up, and seems like he may in fact grow into potential future captain.

I think he's still got the inner rage but knows how to channel it in most cases and realizes he has to be a bit of a role model/leader on D so to can it with the extra craziness, heh.

Big good step though.
