Ya thought it showed the brass feel he is becoming a leader type. Think he could be a good C or A for us in the future.
Am I the only one that thinks fabric letters are way overrated? Justin Williams was regarded as one of the biggest leaders on the ice and he never wore an A or C.
Doughty is absolutely one of the top leaders on this team. He elevates his game consistently, is the leader of the defense, is constantly vocal on the ice, and also happens to be the best player on the team.
Probably should throw a shout out to Dwight King, loving him back as the left wing on the 3rd line in the bottom six!
What are you talking about, he was on a scoring line yesterday with Dustin Brown (3G, 8A) and Trevor Lewis (3G, 3A), why are you commenting about him being a 3rd line player?
He was on a scoring line playing one of the worst teams in the league, I actually think only 2 points was very disappointing, plus he didn't fight, hit or give anyone a solid face wash.
Not impressed. King should have 20 goals by now.
On pace for 47!
On pace for 47!
4 of the Top 6 are guys hated on the Kings board.
To bad we don't have any bad blood with Dallas yet.
I'm more impressed with his shooting percentage...

I agree that leaders come in all forms. I just think it's meaningful because management recognizes a player enough to give him a letter.
You also have to have a letter to have a higher degree of interaction with the officials. Given Doughty's tantrums in the past, it is meaningful to be afforded that opportunity.
Now, I definitely agree that a letter doesn't make you a leader, nor does lacking a letter mean you lack leadership.
You don't suppose it was anything to do with it being a back-to-back? Fresh legs and all. Plus the Brown-Lewis-King night was unstoppable, it would have been stupid to NOT play them more minutes no matter who the opponent was. You play well, you get rewarded.
No one is saying King is our saviour, just happy to get a guy back who clicks and has chemistry with the roster. His presence last night was obviously great. Nothing wrong with being happy for a guy who played a great game.
It stems from one poster in particular who believes, due to ice time in small sample sizes, King is a top-sixer on this team and we suck because of that. And it's not an opinion worth arguing against because despite about 100 posts of facts the mind was not being changed.

.
I also have said Mr King played well in several of my posts and i will restate it again He had a good game. My issues comes from people saying he sparked the 3rd line when said line didn't play 3rd line mins. The way Sutter distributed mins can have so called 2nd line players getting 3rd line mins aka Pearson This happens a lot more then people think. This extra mins makes it a lot more likely your offensive stats will go up.
First off to all I'm happy to see the reaction and hate from all my fellow king fans. What a over reaction to my comments. I funny i didn't think it was possible to unit so many king fans in one opinion. So i applauded that. Now i want to dispell this rumour i hate King I don't i just don't want to see him play to many mins I think King is best served with between 12-13 mins.
Mr Doty if you read all my post you would have seen me state in one of them I said it was probably a good idea to rest Pearson and gaborik a little with that line playing well. Next to you no one is calling him a saviour I have seen several people openingly suggest he is the answer to our bottom six scoring woes. If hes playing top 6 mins how is he doing that? Its simply not true. It makes him seem better then he is. I have no issues with people being happy hes back. I have issues with people saying hes playing in the bottom 6 when hes not. I also think people are overstating it. It was against edmonton one of the worse nhl teams in the league. He does something like this against a playoff fine sing his praises Hell I'll beat you to it however im not holding my breath.
now the other comment that was obviously about me. Now if your going to talk about me use my name I can defend my opinion as well as anyone in here. Due to small sample sizes what are you talking about fact dwight king play 81 games last year and 51 one of them were him playing over 14 mins and another 3 over 13.30 mins. This leaves 27 games of his 81 games or 33.3 percent of his games playing bottom 6 mins. That is not a small sample size at all. Also i never once said we suck because of King again you over state things to paint me in a negative light Next this 100s of posts line is again overstating things Go back to that thread less then 70 with half mine and half others. People like to call dwight king bottom 6 but last year and so far this year hes plays top 6 mins Facts are facts.
