Not to change subjects on you guys but the Oilers PGT after Last night's game is a good read. Too funny. Anyways carry on.

But several posters in that thread missed the point of the Kings twitter account. They were not highlighting the defender, Justin Schultz, as though he were some catalyst for the Kings in last night's game. The twitter account was highlighting the kid in the Quickie outfit, complete with helmet.

In other news, the 3 points tonight gives Dustin Brown 2 more points (14) than Ryan Kesler, (12) in the battle of who really has the worst contract in the NHL.

Brown with 5 points in his last 4 games, and a bounce here or there it could have been 7 or 8. Playing much better.

Oh man, didn't realize Kessler was sucking that badly. Gold.

My buddy is one of the few good nucks fans, and when Kessler got traded that it was the best they could do to tie an anchor to the Ducks ship

im salivating at the prospect of King/Lewis/Brown consistently being the terrifying forechecking line we all knew it could be

obviously the Oilers aren't exactly the stiffest defensive test, but when you have your 3rd/4th lines going like that shift after shift, it really makes the whole game seem that much easier for the Kings as a whole. Creates mismatch problems all over the place when you can roll 4 lines like that and know that they're all capable of wreaking havoc.

It's easy to understand now why Dwight King is a critical piece to the Kings if they are going to contend for a cup. His presence down low is something that opponents have honor and defend against. He is on a great deal as well.

If they aren't already, the Ucks are going to regret that contract. 6 more years after this one? I was wondering if they might be banking on a compliance buyout with the next CBA to get rid of this albatross, but both his contract and the CBA expire the same year.

King-Lewis-Brown is looking really damn good already. Its great to have Kinger back. I even noticed Nolan got a shift (or 2?) with Kopitar, being rewarded for his good play.

I still don't think Murray was in the room when that deal was signed. Just awful for the Ducks, but many of their fans were saying it had to be done, because if they didn't give it to him another team would. Well, let another stupid GM be stupid.

So who comes out when Carter returns? I'm guessing Andreoff or Mersch may alternate in and out of the lineup, maybe Nolan as well if he forgets the reason why he's in the lineup.

When Nolan has to perform the way he is supposed to due to the numbers game, he seems to elevate his game and play the right way. I'm sure that pisses Sutter off, but that's the way it seems to work with Nolan.

Getting King back is a big deal. His presence makes all of the pieces fit much better. The Kings have the luxury of letting Carter fully recover. No reason to rush him back into the lineup with the team getting wins right now.

Toffoli is red hot, and if King-Lewis-Brown can provide a bit of offense the Kings should be okay until Carter gets healthy.

It's really nice to have a guy like Pearson as well that can move up and down the lineup to provide energy to whatever line needs it the most.

agreed.

I think Mersch will get sent back down when Carter comes back. I am glad he got a sniff of the NHL and has even done pretyy well, but I think he should be playing more minutes in the AHL.
he will be up again if the team gets another injury

I'll never, ever understand this logic. Great way to run a business.

wow this love and sainthood for one game of kings return is getting sickening. Lets point out some facts before this gets further out of hand. The kings had its best record ever without King playing one game. Yes he had a good game not saying he did not However to say he is anything of a spark to lewis and brown is ridiculous. It was one game against the 3rd worse team in the league nothing more nothing less. So lets not overstate his return please. The law of averages finally catching up to brown and lewis had as much to do with there production as Kings return

I agree. It's good that he got a cup of coffee. Now he knows what he needs to work on in Ontario. This situation is not unlike that of Toffoli or Pearson's. Mersch looks like he can be a contributor once he learns how to do everything just a bit faster.

It's no surprise that our bottom 6 sucked without him.

I will never understand the hate he is a perfect 3rd liner that can sub on the top lines and he is a great contract.

Those are some big guys: Lucic, Mersch, King, Nolan, and Kopitar. If Mersch continues to score, I say keep him up, even though before his goal last night he hasn't looked that great.

Weal is the guy that should be sent down IMO.

I don't get it either. The guy is a perfect fit for his role. He is paid what he is supposed to be paid and seems to be a great teammate for the other guys. Brings his lunch pail last night and plays the kind of game those that appreciate him have come to expect.

C'mon, aren't you happy to have the ****ing guy back? He solidifies our bottom 6 and improves the team. What do you want to do, trade him?

I know he is not going to score every game, but he is a huge spark to the bottom 6. It is a great addition without having to give anyone up
