So, about next year....

Blake's needs....

-Sign two big, LHD. Only need one more LHD if Gavrikov re-signs.
-Sign a goalie (not an issue if Korpisalo signs).
-Legit 3rd line center.
-toughness up and down the line-up.
-find a way to move one of Iaffalo, Lizotte, Arvidsson. I don't think Blake can move Moore's awful contract.
-trade or buyout (bad buyout) Peterson.

Nobody has toughness up and down the lineup, Johnny. If you think they should be tougher that is fine, but the Brian Burke philosophy of multiple though guy players is a thing of the past. Every successful team in the league runs a top 9 forwards, and there just aren’t enough Tom Wilson’s and Trent Frederic’s in the league.

Detroit might be a good trading partner, they have a surplus of LD prospects. They are looking for RD, someone for their PP2, and secondary scoring.

Sounds like a Durzi and Moore/Iafallo/arvidsson for (in my dreams) Edvinsson

I endorse this tweet.

You cannot keep all four of Doughty, Roy, Spence, and Clarke. And this is assuming we’ve already moved on from Durzi and Walker.

So it’s either move Roy, or move Spence, and accept the fact that whomever you move will likely blossom into a fantastic top four defenseman on another team.

I still vote for moving Roy. His value is very obvious around the league, and he’s hitting his peak. Sell high. But I fully acknowledge that you’re taking a risk by betting on Spence’s long term development.

Kings was bottom 5 in fighting majors. And though, it's not all about fighting - the teams below them either have at least one tough D man that is tougher than anyone on the Kings without MacEwen or Lemieux. Ie, Detroit with Ben Chariot.

I love fans who want to ice the all midget line up of Doughty, Spence, Clarke, etc.

Do you know what other teams know the Kings are soft? It is their game plan to play physical against us?

Ive been hoping all of Durzi's playing time is to maximize his trade value.. if they dont make a move like this.. braindead.

100% this. Clear eyed thinkers see you must move Roy. Roy is an excellent stay at home, but you need 2 spots on the RD for Clarke and Spence. After 23/24 Roy is going to be expensive > 5 mil x 4 years.. so you get value for him now and convert his cap hit into a solid 3LD like Soucy for approx 3.5x4. So essentially you convert Roy into Soucey get a pick and save some salary, and have enough money for Gavrikov going fwd since he will command what Roy would want post 23/24.

I’ve got better odds of finding Bigfoot.

That last one will be far too costly. It'll be a 1st round pick to remove that contract. Better to eat it for a year and then buyout.

Too bad Turcotte has been so mishandled and injured like he has. He could have been a great third line sparkplug center with skill.

Do you ever have any other thought in your head besides this? Genuinely curious like do you ever think about a stick of cheese or when you might take your next shit or literally anything else?

Say what you will about axhole and deezenutz, at least they had dipshit opinions on a wide variety of topics.

Doughty/Voynov/Martinez was a “midget lineup.” But they had beefy veteran partners in Scuderi, Mitchell, Regehr, etc.

You can easily play Doughty Spence and Clarke if you invest in size/defense on the left side. Even a moderately sized SHD like Anderson does fine paired with Doughty.

I think we would lose Johnny if the NHL ever banned fighting. And there are a decent amount of fans that are the same way, it’s the main reason I think fighting hasn’t been banned, despite the potential CTE lawsuits down the road.

I guess but it’s basically gone already. When Corey Perry is a top 10 fighter in the league at age 150… the writing is on the wall.

When UFC bans headshots is when hockey should consider banning fighting. Until human beings evolve a bit more, we will always have bloodlust like the the Romans fully embraced. Maybe in a couple thousand more years.

Buffalo’s 13th OA could be had for Roy extended and another piece

Anderson, Gavi and Soucy on the LHD would pretty good toughness/size wise for this team.
Paired with an add along the 4th line (no, not mcewen) that is big/tough and that would be much better place than we’ve been the past few years.

The team would suck without Vilardi though, because there would be no cap room to sign him.
