As much as I'd like to see some of these players (Danault, Kempe, Gavrikov) on the Canucks, the path of least resistance is to replace TM as coach.

I would love for Kopitar to retire as a King, but we're at a crossroads here. Kopitar playing 23 minutes a game as LA's 1C at 36, 37, 38 years old is detrimental to him, to our prospects developing, and to our ability to win. If he wants to win another cup as LA's 1C, I just don't see it happening.

I would love for him to accept a 2C role playing ~18 minutes a night. His role needs to start decreasing a bit. He's absolutely gassed from being overplayed. I know that isn't his fault necessarily, but as long as he's on the team and coaches are fighting for their jobs, it'll likely keep happening. Byfield should be LA's 1C, Kopitar 2C, Danault 3C.

If Kopitar wants to win another cup or three, he has absolutely earned that right. I just don't see it happening on this nightmare of a Kings team.
I agree , It would just be nice to get him off the penalty kill and save those minutes every night. The guy is still an effective player and with the reduced minutes it will help him overall

I think Blake knows it’s not only Todd’s job on the line.

Blake has a roster full of RFA to sign going into next year. He has no goalies. He’s up against the cap. The prospect pool is a lot weaker than it used to be.

I fully expect him to swing a trade for Chychrun. it would almost make logical sense for us as well if he traded Roy.

Doughty - Chychrun
Spence - Anderson
Clarke - Gavrikov.

This would reduce Doughtys minutes. We have a true number one power-play quarterback. Clarke can take over the second pairing quarterback for now I love Spence but he’s just not getting the job done. I’m also not against having two defenseman on a power-play pairing if they’re both offensive minded.

Run the top defense pairing 22 minutes a night and the other two pairings 18 to 19 minutes a night just to keep everyone fresh

Upfront is another question. I think initially the thought was to reduce Kopitar minutes by plain PLD more but he has not lived up to the billing. I still think it’s coaching, teammates, and part PLD. It’s just a mixture for failure.

The only reason I like Chychrun going forward. I do believe he is a great defenseman and he is young enough for the next generation. Players like Kempe, Byfield, Moore are our future and it’s time to start promoting them into bigger roles and supplement them with the vets instead of the other way around

He is not. Can be a useful one, but that's about it. I don't what he has done to persuade people that he is great. I mean, he's been part of two really bad teams, one of whom got better after he left it. Not saying it was his fault ARI sucked, but Chychrun has decent talent, but is no standout defensively, and by no mean top of the heap offensively.

The kings are way too good still regardless of the season to just trade so many talents.

Danault would get a huge deal, he is a coaches dream.

They have so much talent, if they decided to trade, they could probably get like six first rounders, no joke.

a ppg winger has no value? some people are morons. the reason why fiala gets all the hate is because he's being scapgoated for this 15 stretch of putrid hockey where it should be directed at the lame duck coach Mclellan. if the kings do sell, players like kopitar (NMC) and Danualt will not be available. Players most likely available will be Roy, Arvidsson, Englund, grundstrom and a small chance in garvirkov

Feels like a coaching change would solve half the Kings issues.

Fiala is annoying because when engaged he can be an effective two-way winger. He’s honestly capable of great defensive play but he’s entitled and thinks he is Kucherov or something.

This roster is still loaded with a lot of excellent pieces. Way too early to panic sell.

What a weird post. Danault’s role isn’t to put up big point totals. To say he’s “nothing more” than a 15-goal scorer sounds really stupid
On the simple question of GOAL SCORING... if you remove his 27 goal season...he averages 10 goals per year so 15 goals is generous. I made no other comment about intangibles he brings in other areas. Maybe you should focus on reading comprehension before calling someone's post stupid. Unless you are also unable to grasp basic arithmetic??

Kings fans were getting their undies in a bind back when i said that Danault was a 15-ish goal scorer nothing more. He had his superman year with 27 and now he is back to his usual pace. I guess "i told you so" needs to simmer a while.

No, you're the guy who said the Danault contract would be worth 1m a goal, and he surpassed that value ON TOP OF EVERYTHING ELSE barely over a year in

so you may want to sit this one out while everyone else discusses how much they want him at a fantastic value because they can appreciate what he brings in a way you clearly cannot grasp

I am not the one trying to dump him on other teams at the moment. At the time wasn't he supposed to bring your team over the top for a series of cup runs? Maybe you could stand down junior?

Edmonton moves Campbell to free space, pays whatever
1st+2nd+(1 of)Bourgault/Broberg+Kulak for Danault
How does Edmonton move Campbell? That would cost 3 x 1sts, one for every year remaining on his contract.

Edmonton has no choice but to buy him out.

Can't have a fire sale without getting rid of the coaching staff/front office that got us into this situation in the first place.

Also the team had all the same personnel minus Rittich/Copley, backup goaltenders, when they went on the away winning streak. Back then, even the home record was reasonable. We have great players and a great team but we have a few guys who have tipped the ship. It would be easier to just bench such guys and give others more play time than it would be to burn the thing down.

This thread is idiotic as the Kings will not be having a fire sale. Before any players are moved a new coach needs to come in then make roster adjustments. The sad part is if we could undo Blake’s 2 biggest trades the team would be miles better than it is now, and much younger and cheaper too. Blake blows.

But he’s only forcing shit because no one else can score on this roster. I don’t get the Fiala hate personally. He’s the most talented offensive talent we’ve had since Palffy.
He is a one dimensional self centered player. He scores but makes tones of stupid plays often bad turnovers and take bad penalties at the worst times. The comment made by Drew and Kopi after the Buffalo game were directly about Fiala. The fact Blake gave up Faber up in that deal will be bad for years to come.

How dogshit is Rittich exactly? Can he be margainly better than Vitek Vanascrub?

Rittich has been great but like Talbot theyr'e guys that shouldn't be playing volume games or they turn into pumpkins

The Kings aren’t looking to move him at all. Just a few over emotional fans.

No one is trying to dump Danault at all, he's simply the guy most-inquired about because he's a stellar two-way C on a darling contract for what he would bring to a contender

He has immense value to everyone in the world except one guy who had a hot take a few years back and is still so in the hole about it he's doing everything he can to try to self-validate

I don't think LAK are as bad as their current record.

IF they are then something serious went off the rails. Could PLD be a serious negative influence?

Yep, this is just fan over reaction. In reality, we’re still dealing with Rob Blake. For him to do such a move would be openly admitting failure, and he’s not going to do that. Outside of that, he has a buy high, sell low mentality. Not sure I want him turning over the roster a second time.

My thought on the current Kings situation, Kings still have a good roster that for all intents and purposes should go deep, or at least deeper into the playoffs. But, Blake mistakenly thought this team was further along in the rebuild than they actually were and started trading for vets before this team was ready and blocked some good young players.

I mean the same can be said of Kempe.

Tomasino , Fabbro , Cody Glass for Fiala homecoming ?
No. Not close.

No one is trying to dump him. Not even remotely.
