Not once in any of my comment did I say trade him now. Not sure how you read in my comments I said trade him to me either. I am not an NHL GM. What I was saying is his contract of 5.5 million for 6 years has negative value and won't be moved unless his is a complete cap dump.
Anderson does not have negative value, you’re dreaming of you think teams wouldn't be lining up for this guy. I don’t know what kind of return he’d get but it for sure wouldn’t be Montreal adding their first round pick to dump his contract lol

But the thing is teams were not lining up for him when he was available with Columbus. The reason Columbus only got Domi is because of that contract. To move him without retention you are adding assets. He is the new Lucic contract.

He was low value last year because he was coming off shoulder surgery and only scored 1 goal the previous year. He proved since that his shoulder is fine, can still score and is a beast in the playoffs. He has much more value now.

Trade him to LA just to destroy Play-by-Play announcers.

LA's Anderson's so far , we NEED more

Lias Anderson
Mickey Anderson
Anderson-Dolan
That reminds me of the South Korean roster maybe from the Olympics where almost every player on the team was named Park or Kim unless they were a duel citizen. Gotta be an absolute nightmare for a play by play guy.

Reporting indicated that the reason MTL had to include the 3rd rounder was because other teams wanted him and the inclusion of the pick put the Habs over the finish line.

LMAO a beat that got 6 points in 22 games in the playoffs. Austin Matthews scores at the same pace in the play offs and he is a bum. I love Habs fans high on steamies from La Belle Province.

You think we will be unhappy in all our trades. Maybe for some, maybe not for others. And no, we are not liquidating all our age 25+ guys for whatever we can get.

Anderson's contract is not negative value. We disagree. First you say unhappy and now you say he is a negative contract. How low can you go? :sarcasm:

False. There were teams in on Anderson and we had to give Domi and a pick. At that point in time, Domi's value was not crap like you think it might be today. But I suspect you will use hindsight evaluation. Anderson had an injury year before he was traded and the Habs were not the only team knocking on the door. You don't have your facts right on this one bud

Keep dreaming that Anderson is on a negative contract. 100% BS. Regardless, I will be happy to keep him from age 27-32 for that cap hit and he is still with us after the 3-5 year rebuild.

Most of HF people commenting here as clearly not seen Josh play at all and are just focusing on he's stats witch is dumb as %$/"

Agreed. A few very ignorant posters on Anderson at the moment. Lack of information and trying to act like experts when they don't know shit. Habs are not even shopping Anderson.

You value the guy but his $5.5M contract from age 27-32 (prime years) is shit. OK sure, go and try to find a big strong boy who skates like that and can score somewhere else for cheaper. Good luck!

Umm I thought this was an Anderson to NJ thread . Not a Habs vs Leafs thread or Leaf fans crapping on Habs players thread or a Anderson's playoff history thread.

Lots of teams were interested until they talked contract with his agent. The exact reason Columbus was moving him in the first place. There was only one team that wanted to give him that asinine contract and that was MB. 6 more years at 5.5 million for a third line winger is negative value.

Domi had no value when he was traded. He went from 1st line center to off the roster by the playoffs. His value tanked. The book on him is perimeter player, poor defensively and is best on the left wing but wants to play center. He was not a hot commodity. MB and Julien ran him out of town.

You are the one practicing revisionist history.
