Prospect Info: Jets Prospects

McGroarty may have scored another late tying goal, pinballed around in front not sure whether he touched it or not.

Looks like its on the scoresheet as Samoskevich, broadcast was talking like it was Rutger though. He had an assist on the winner in overtime too.

Is there a reason why we wouldn’t bring someone like O’Dell back for some secondary scoring. He was pretty decent before he left and has obviously improved quite a bit in the KHL.
But I guess he’s a star there and would be a third liner depth piece here so probably wouldn’t get paid nearly as much in the NHL?

He's well past his prime and wasn't even what you are describing in his prime.

The competition level in that league is about the same as the ECHL here with a lot of the top non-Russians bailing with the war.

Scoring in another league doesn't equate to being able to score in the NHL. O'Dell against his peers couldn't play in a bottom 6 role. He doesn't do that overseas and he can does well in a top 6 role over their. He can't do that here

When all was said and done yesterday I was glad we didn't move out prospects like Lambert before we really know what we have.

100%

They are assets so at some point they might get sold which I am fine with, but not for rentals for this team this year. If they are part of a hockey trade then so be it.

This softens the sting of Helle potentially leaving next season.

Spit balling here, do you think Chevy would trade Helle? The haul for an extended Helle would be tremendous.

I think that trading Helle only comes up if/when they decide to go full on with a rebuild.

If both Scheifele and Dubois refuse to extend, they have to consider it. If Helle refuses to extend, they have to consider it. But I think Scheifele and Helle both stay. I just hope we get a decent return on Dubois.

But if this season goes South does the Jets brain trust consider blowing it up rather than even trying to extend Scheif and Helle? That would be if the performance for the remaining 19 games continues to be more like Friday's game and less like Saturday's game and we go quietly in the first round.

I don't think they will blow it up even then, JMO. They will go all in on keeping the current core together as much as possible, as long as possible. I think they might even keep Dubois for the 1 more year they have him.

It feels like Dubois is gone. Hopefully Chevy (or the new GM) can land a 2023 1st and a top young prospect.

I expect Scheifele will want to be PAID and it will be too rich for the team. He is going to want 8 x $9.

Helle is the most important player on the team and if any kind of rebuild is in order why would he be willing to stick around?

Looks like a very astute late round pick so far. He's tops in GAA and second in Save % among OHL starters.
He is McGroarty's buddy, right?
