Prospect Info: Jets Prospects

I have to agree somewhat with the hockey news. This season his scoring hasn’t increased very much from last season. Often there’s a big jump in the draft+1 scoring for prospects. His hasn’t jumped a whole lot and he’s played with better scorers this year than last.
I’m not concerned and I like him as a prospect but I think it’s fair to say that his scoring has been a little bit disappointing this year compared to last.
He's been second line center on both teams he's played for this season in favor of players who were drafted higher. Opportunity is important, to be putting up one point less than a point per game this season as a second line center is impressive. For a 3rd round pick Zhilkin has had a very impressive season.

Who said Ville Heinola can’t play defense? He’s leading the Moose with a +20 and the next closest is Harkins at +15. Nobody else is even close. Good to see!
I think this has turned out to be a really good development year for Ville. Hopefully the organization opens up a spot for him next season and he builds off this year with the Moose.

He just needs confidence at the NHL level. He plays too timid when he is up but if he just plays his game there is a good player there.

I love that he seems to becoming a fan favourite in Seattle. I think the kid needed this success and fun playing rather than grinding it out as a depth player in a men’s league.

Yup, he is another player that needed some confidence as well as sustained success to develop his offensive tools. He has all the tools to be a top line player.

Lambert just scored a beautiful goal that absolutely shouldn't have counted due to a blatant pick haha.

Real pretty though.

Gunther should get 2 assists. 1 for the pass, another for the pick. Coming at 4x4 it opened up for Lambert like a breakaway.

Lambert scoring at a 130 point pace in his D+1 season playing along side a real stud in Guenther.

In my opinion this is the exact type of development Brad needed. He badly needed to have a stretch of dominating at a level and scoring allot of points.

McGroarty now with 31 points in 35 games which is a really solid pace for a rookie in the NCAA. That kid plays with fire, he is the exact prototype we need on the Jets.

Fantilli at 2 PPG pace and Luke Hughes as a PPG stud D man are both drool worthy prospects.

I think a challenge for Lambert (along with any player his age) will be figuring out what he's doing now in juniors that's making him successful and how to translate it to the pro game.

He certainly has all the tools but it's just a matter of using them within the framework of the pro game to be successful.

It's been awesome to see him get his MOJO down there.

Watching his speed, vision and shot reminds me of Ehlers a bit

With less time and space, Lambert is doing much better playing a direct version of the pro game. He still goes east to west sometimes but he is shooting a lot more at this level then he did at the World Juniors or in europe.

He does look a lot like Ehlers in his playstyle and playing with a guy who is very direct in Guenther is really ideal for him. Basically they are playing off each other. Guenther will net drive and drop the puck and Lambert is shooting it or Lambert goes for his skates and Guenther finds the open ice and waits for a pass. Its nice to see the chemistry they have right now. I think McGroarty is a similar player to Guenther in he plays a very direct game and goes to the net to find open spaces so hopefully they develop in the future the same way

The other side of that challenge will be figuring what to drop from his game at the pro level, the things that can work in junior but which will not work higher up. Speed, vision and shot will still work but he will find fewer pylons to skate around.

zilkon is also older than most as he is a late Birthday ( after Sept 15 th) and was not eligible to drafted with his age group.

Which also means ……. He does not have to stay 2 years after being drafted in the cHL….. and is eligible to play on the Moose next year and not in CHL!

Yeah, I can see those two and Cole forming a good line at some point.

Arizona Coyotes shooting themselves in the foot again.

These 2 players showing wonderful chemistry together as soon as they were put together in the WHL and look to take this team directly to the Memorial Cup Run!

Arizona could have used their 3 rd 1 st round pick to grab Lambert in the draft this summer as they had the pick just b4 the Jets selected Lambert!

They used that pick on a 6”7 D-Man (Stanley clone player) out of the Q!

Maverick Lameroux

What would the talk be around the water cooler……be around the dub if these 2 players that are lighting it up together we’re heading to the same NHL club training camp next year with who ever the Coyotes draft 1 thru 5 in the first round this summer!
