We need Kane back... right away. Plain and simple.

All the chatter in the world about his absence and his future on the team etc., but we need him in the lineup right now. Him and Bogosian. I still believe this team can do great things. Love that Wheeler is so fired up and he's got his swagger back.

You could say the same thing about keeping the status quo. Best thing that happens is we tank for a higher draft pick.

Well if the coach is to blame as much as some here seem to think then you don't make a coaching change and risk the team getting better.

Anyways, other than one or two instances that I can remember from the past 15 or so years usually when a team makes a coaching change there might be a brief improvement in team play after which the team tends to settle into their previous state of mediocrity.

This should be our lines after the deadline

Ladd------Little---------Wheeler
Tangradi--Scheifele----JC Lipon
Halischuck-O'Dell-------Peluso
Wright-----Lowry-------Thorburn

Enstrom-------Trouba
Pardy----------Redmond
Melchiory------Ellerby

Montoya
Pasquale/Okhinura

Trade Kane, Bogo, Buff for packages of 1st round picks/prospects
Trade Frolik, Joki, Seto for packages of 2nd round picks/prospects
Trade Pavelec to Islanders for a 2nd round pick if possible
Trade Clitsome for 3rd/4th round pick
Trade Stuart for anything you can get for him
Trade Slater if he's healthy for whatever you get
Consider trading Wheeler/Little if someone is willing to overpay

Hire Guy Boucher next season.

Time to blow it up and rebuild Sabres style.

Stopped reading after I saw Tangradi slotted on the second line, what part of he's too slow for the NHL don't you get?:shakehead

Throwing in Lipon and Lowry to the NHL when they can barely handle the AHL at this point seems like a bad idea, too.

Yup tank hard if you are gonna suck.

Seems to be working in Edmonton. :sarcasm:

I definitely get the argument for gutting this team, sucking and getting high draft picks. Wouldn't say I fully agree with it, but I get it.

If we're going to try and deal major assets away, I'd prefer that we get decent (and younger) roster players in exchange. In the meantime, fix the glaring issues with this team. Shaky goaltending, past-expiry coaching, overall weak middle six forwards.

I sound like a broken record, but I'm not sure how people can talk about gutting this team when even the simplest changes haven't been pursued.

There is little point to making big moves during this season when there will be a poor trade market with so many teams near the cap. In the offseason all 30 teams will have cap space and flexibility to make moves, you'll be able to get decent return.

I know people don't like boring hockey but this team needs to play more defensive and more of a puck possession. Thats a big system change and Noel doesn't want to do this so... you need the type of players that play that type of game and a coach to teach/play that system. You need better coaches for special teams. You need a better goalie who is going to put up better than a .909 avg. I think we need a new goalie coach as well.

Like I said, this version of the Jets will not make the playoffs.

It will take a few years to turn over the current core of Kane, Ladd, Little Pavelec, Enstrome, Wheeler and Byfuglien and replace it with Touba, Scheifele, Petan, Comrie, Morrisey and Lowry.

One day, we’ll see Bettman hand the Stanley Cup to Captain Jacob Trouba.

When injuries happen we just don't have the depth to fill spots. Albert, Thor, Wright, Tangradi, Peluso should never be in the lineup together, only one of them should be in there. We're missing a 3rd liner (Burmi type) as when we're healthy the fourth line should be Slater, Halischuk and Wright. There is no coincidence they've been sucking since these injuries, not enough horses in there and now it only gets worse losing Hali.

Give me boring hockey any day. I'd rather be bored than constantly frustrated by watching the Jets play unstructured pond hockey and give up boatloads of goals.

Why would anyone overpay when you are giving away the team for picks and prospects. At least we would have a hell of a chance at McDavid. You realize games like tonight would be considered great games with a lineup like that and the Hawks would beat us by 10 every time we played them.
