Slagging a guy for owning a business after retiring is next level reaching to whine.i'm sure Knoblauch is a fine coach.
Paul Coffey sells cars for a living dude

As the head coach he probably had a responsibility to shut down the "cup or bust" talk from the players before the season. Looking back at it, no one on this team had any business talking about a cup. They took it for granted. A good coach should have shut that shit down immediately.Woodcroft shot himself in the foot by getting cocky and implementing a new system that blew up in his face. Zero room for error in this league.
Having said that, we still need a goalie.
Misleading. AHL canceled the season//playoffs in two of the 4 years he Coached there. This is NOT a Jared Bednar/Jon Cooper type of hire:
“[Knob] as an AHL head coach, his teams have gone 119-122, missed the playoffs twice in three tries and won only a single playoff round.“
seeing Oilers fans lose their collective shit over this on X, is wild.
some of the stuff being said is nuts...pretty much putting the whole "one of the smartest hockey fans" to bed.
That's it. His friend, who is the first diehard AHL fan I have heard of in my 40 years on this earth, is glad Knob is gone. Bad hire!Personally no, but I have a friend who lives in Hartford and goes to most of his games and I asked him about it. He is glad to see him gone.
Contrarians are cringe.seeing Oilers fans lose their collective shit over this on X, is wild.

You were waving pom poms for him. All the talk about power stance, etc. Its like you were in love with him. Really I don't recall anybody on the board being more enthused with Woody than you.I wasn’t overly attached to Woodcroft as the coach. He was better than Tippett but had some critical flaws with his coaching that caused some of the problems this season.
The McDavid era will end at some point. You can't run an organization professionally like that, man. If they had done their jobs properly, they would have drafted and developed players who would contribute within 2-3 years, like other organizations find. They could have used cap savings from having those said players pushing through the system to address goaltending and D. They wouldn't have to rely on those two to produce all the offence. You'd surround them with other players who make a difference, and share the burden of leadership.I mean ultimately, if McDavid says hire my dad as coach or I'm leaving, you hire his dad. As much as you can whine about nepotism, the number one priority for the organization should be extending McDavid. They will very likely never have a player as good as McDavid again.

He's basically 1 playoff miss and 1 time in, on a team that is entirely dependent on the talent pool of the Rangers.

Its a quick and easy way to verbalize his lack of actual experience coaching. He probably makes good money doing it so I don't think he would feel bad about his job title.Slagging a guy for owning a business after retiring is next level reaching to whine.

I jumped aboard the Woody train as 95% of the board did after he started winning … a lot.You were waving pom poms for him. All the talk about power stance, etc. Its like you were in love with him. Really I don't recall anybody on the board being more enthused with Woody than you.
The guy always struck me as an arrogant ass. Some people around the league that feel that way too.
proved my last point with this gem.
Everything the oilers are doing is to make McJesus happy--my concern is now LeonThis move makes me nervous that McDavid is close to putting in a trade request so they hired his buddy to keep him happy.
Okay reading up more, this probably is a Jackson decision more so than a Kenny decision. So atleast there’s that. I’d rather it be Jackson than Kenny.
He has the best record in Oilers history as a coach. The first priority, given the start this year, is to rack up as many wins as you can to hopefully make the playoffs. That means you play the best players we have.Where did he take the roster once his top 2 guys stopped putting up this generations historic #'s and a historic PP? How about the Backend #'s regressing? Players looking confused.
Why did this coach show ZERO accountability to players who clearly needed wakeup calls within a game? With every former player/analyst saying the same thing
Yep, we’ve always known this organization is a bunch of dicks.Well guys, it was meant to be, right?
We've gone from Tipp, to Woody, to Knob.
I wasn’t pleased about the Nurse extension if that’s your barometer.keith going on and on posting the same thing 5 posts per page LOL
the fact keith is so upset makes me realize this was a good move.
One thing I liked about a particular quote Coffey once said was about moving the puck up the ice. He said he would get so frustrated watching guys keep turning back into their own zone instead of pushing pace and moving the puck forward quickly.Paul Coffey is gonna have so much fun with the defence of this team.
Is his advice to Bouchard going to be, "Be me?"
Being a top 20 player of all time is no resume? Don’t make me laugh.its not for owning a business, its for getting a job with no resume
