Sanderson hasn't been great for a while now, he needs to step up his game and be our best Dman.
Jake just asked to do way too much.I thought Zub comeback would would produce greater results on Jake
I certainly thought it would help.I thought Zub comeback would would produce greater results on Jake
Agreed. When he's on his game it looks effortless. You get the feeling that as Jake Sanderson goes, so will the team. And he ain't goin'
Chabot and Jensen pairing have been flying, I don't think that's and issue, the problem is he's gone from 2.68 GF/60 when on the ice last year to 1.08 so far this year, that won't last. If he's even at 2.3 GF/60 well below last two years, we're doing much better.Ya, I'm starting to feel like this guy might be part of the problem. I don't mean that in that he's not better than most, he clearly is, but if this team is expecting him to carry the load offensively, I'm not sure he's that guy. Makes you wonder if bringing in an offensive specialist for the bottom pairing beside Kleven and PP spot duty would make sense.
Do you think that's maybe why they had Addwhatever on a PTO?Ya, I'm starting to feel like this guy might be part of the problem. That sounds promising. He's clearly trying, and I like his confidence with the puck, but the last 5 games or so he looks like things aren't working for him and has made some uncharacteristic mistakes.Chabot and Jensen pairing have been flying, I don't think that's and issue, the problem is he's gone from 2.68 GF/60 when on the ice last year to 1.08 so far this year, that won't last. Seemed like it to me. I like the idea of a different look from your 6/7 that you rotate, but JBD and Hamonic are both pure defense type guys, or, well, they try to play defense lol.Do you think that's maybe why they had Addwhatever on a PTO?
It's not comparable, Quinn is incredible in the OZone. I watch the Canucks by curiosity to see what EB is doing and.. what a skater QH is! More than that his shot is letal. I would have never thought.Jake Sanderson 1.9 shots on goal a game. And 4.5 shot attempts a game.
Thomas Chabot 2.5 and 5.6.
Just for comparison.....The leader in the NHL shot attempts category is Quinn Hughes with a whopping 9.2 attempts a game! That seems outrageous!
He gets 3.8 of those shots on goal each game.
Yeah he's been poor since being stapled to Hamonic and looks like he was still getting used to Zub coming back. Zub has also just been eh last night. Chabot-Jensen look fantastic though.
He's been average to good this year. The Sens need him to be really good to great for them to make the playoffs.Sanderson hasn't been great for a while now, he needs to step up his game and be our best Dman.
Not sure its harping but .. I am glad Zub is back and that will help Sanderson. Our RD depth and D depth in general gets exposed with a top 4 out.People harping on Sanderson here, and praising Chabot in the other thread just don't seem to get it. Sanderson looked like a Norris contender to start the year, but has struggled a bit after his hot start. Do you think it's a coincidence that he started to drop off as soon as Hamonic became his d partner? Do you think it's a coincidence that Chabot is playing like a demon as soon as he starts to play with Nick Jensen instead of Chychrun or Zaitsev?
It's all in the partner. You can't have an elite defenseman without a very good partner beside him, it just won't happen. Zub is back now, and him and Sanderson are going to take a few games to get back into the rhythm they had to start the year. Not concerned at all.
Well, he looked better his first year with Hamonic, and Hamonic has looked at least as good this year as he personally did that year,People harping on Sanderson here, and praising Chabot in the other thread just don't seem to get it. Must also look at the GA/60.Agreed. When he's on his game it looks effortless.

Whoever played Hamonic in the top 4 needs to have his head examined. Not sure its harping but .. I am glad Zub is back and that will help Sanderson. Our RD depth and D depth in general gets exposed with a top 4 out.
Hamonic is a 6/7 likely more like a 7 being asked to play top 4 and top pair minutes not a good recipe. It really brought home the poor quality partners Chabot was stuck with while asked to play 30+ minutes a game for so long under Dorion/DJ.. Can we sue these guys for mental anguish?
Yeah, he's got to be playing with an injury. Injuries are usually the simplest and most likely explanation for a player's performance dropoff.Well, he looked better his first year with Hamonic, and Hamonic has looked at least as good this year as he personally did that year,
As well, he didn't look great with Zub the other night, so it's not like a better partner is a switch that can get flipped.
There's also the eye test, he simply wasn't doing the things he did when he was on his game, at his best he is effortlessly winning 1 on 1 battles (nothing to do with partner), outskating the opposition (nothing to do with his partner), during this stretch I've seen him get beat wide, and he's just not winning those one on ones the way he used to.
It's really easy to pin all the blame on Hamonic, he was over slotted on the top pair, but while partner is part of the equation, no doubt, I think there was more to it than that. Hamonic simply doesn't on his own explain the struggles that pair was having.
