He looks considerably better with a healthy Zub next to him. Just because he isn't showing up on the scoresheet doesn't mean he isn't tilting the ice. The amount of plays he breaks up and rushes created the other way is nuts.
True ... that D part of his game has to be solid. If he is on top of his game it is exceptional. He was making plays at the O blue line last night. If he wants top D recognition league wide, in the media (Norris) , and among many fans he needs to be putting up points consistently on the PP and at even.
We know how good he is.

Just Win Baby.

I love all the little shimmies he does to get a lane to the net. Most guys just fire it into the shins or dump it off, but he has that knack to find the lane. Not sure it's as wise as much as he does it, but getting the puck on net is often the best play.

Jake the Snake is our best D. Even Lidstrom would have had shitty moments with Hamonic who has broken down from years of hard hockey sacrificing his health.

He is a defence first guy, but with Zub as a reliable partner Sanderson can take more offensive chances. Still a pup.

Doesn't have to play with an anchor and he goes flying back to his usual self.

I don't expect Norris calibre play, but no more brain farts and hesitation from having to play catch up.

Shout out to Sandy, he’s had a quiet few weeks after an excellent start.

I think the style the Sens are playing a lot of the credit can fall a lot into the lap of Sanderson. We were sold an EK/Chabot hybrid but what we are getting is more Zdeno Chara and not EK - Sandy is more of a défense first, shut down, battle and hustle Dman then he is a smooth skating passer. He’s more the conscious of the shut down game then he is the conscious of the offensive game. Still brings the offense and that’s important, but Sandy seems like the type of player who’d rather get a shutout than 2 points and he’s been a leader in terms of battle level, caring defensively and drawing a line in the sand

Should be wearing a letter

He had a maintenance day today, so he’s probably playing through something.
Interesting, because I don't see him galloping the way he was at the beginning of the year where he'd take the puck and go from the D zone to the offensive zone. hopefully nothing major

Tough one on the breakaway goal last night. Puck watching and got burned.
That's the type of shit this team has to get away from. Problem is, he isn't some grizzly veteran. We forget he is young still, although well paid. I would put Chabot on PP1

Gregor needs to be first on that puck and not give up the play so easily there but, I'm not sure what Amadio was accomplishing on that play though, Jensen Zub isn't coming down to support Gregor because they don't know if they have coverage, Amadio is idk, waiting for a miracle pass to the slot, Sanderson is caught puck watching while Konecny is flying the zone way before they have possession knowing that there's no support for Gregor, so worst case he's tying it up

Tough crowd. Even in a game where he made a mistake as in this one, he had dozens of impactful positive plays, breaking up possessions and chances all game long. Hurting the team I'm just not seeing.

He’s just not “helping” the team as he should.

He has 0 points and is -9 at even strength this year. That’s hurting the team.

It's true, and it's crazy he doesn't have any even strength points.

Even by accident, he should have a few assists, just from transition.

He needs to be better.

His expected on ice goals are almost double the actual goals he's been on ice for, the points will come as that discrepancy naturally resolves itself, but he can still pick things up and help the cause, he's got so much more to give than he has so far.

I’m really not sure. He gives nothing 5 v5. Yea he can out skate people. But once faced with any choice offensively he’s getting it deep or turning it back so he can get back to his position.

He barely gives anything on the pp. he plays the simple pass and gets open. Doesn’t move things around doesn’t shoot particularly accurately.

He’s brilliant defensively. And can go into the standalone best defensive d man in the game. But offensively there’s just not much there other than his skating

Honestly, Sanderson's gameplay has never truly impressed me. While I believe he possesses the qualities of a competent defenseman, I'm not convinced that they warrant an $8 million per season price tag.

He's not an offensive juggernaut, but he has been quite unlucky offensively this year.

Lots of plays he made to forwards that weren't converted, and that 2.9% shooting percentage is going to go up as the season goes on. That's the shooting percentage of a D with a muffin, but Sanderson has a cannon.

I expect he'll finish the year with at least 50-60 points if he continues to QB the top PP.

Beyond his personal sh%, his on ice sh% is roughly half the team average.

He has been really poor recently outside that one-two games when Zub returned.

Hamonic effect. He needs to be our best D man again for us to make playoffs. We need our defense and goaltending to get us there. That's what they're being paid to do.

He'd need 40-50 points in the next 65 games. He has a good chance to get 40 points in the next 65 games but 50+ seems out of reach, given his current scoring pace.

Sanderson 2 assists in last 11 games
Giroux 1 assist in last 8 games
Greig 2 assists in last 11 games
Pinto 0 points in 3 games ( just came back from injury)

Norris 4 points in last games
Batherson 4 points last 8 games

We need the guys mentioned above to step up and start producing in November.

Here are the 3 that are leading our November point totals
Timmy 7 in 8
Brady 6 in 8
Chabot 6 in 8
