Skinner and Pickard are 72nd and 73rd, respectively in GSAx. Mrazek is 93rd and only ahead of a guy now in the AHL and even below Tristan Jarry, who is also in the AHL (and also Dustin Schwartz's protege).

You can't tell me there aren't any goalies ahead of them who have played a decent number of games and are available... I also heard one of the media puppets mention 4giev. Like are you f***ing kidding me? They suggest two of the very, very few players who have worse numbers than our tandem?

Why do I get the feeling they want the fanbase to think the goaltending options are nonexistent or worse than Stu so they don't have to put any effort into upgrading our net without getting pelted by figurative garbage?

Hell, besides Gibson and Binner, what about Lyon and/or Talbot, Soderblom, Quick, James Reimer, Anton Forsberg...hell, is Merilainen available? They all make less money than Mrazek and 4giev too....

Yeah, they aren't impressive names, but they are all playing way better than Stu on worse teams and would more than likely look like the second coming of Roli compared to what we have now. That should tell you how dire our situation is...

I mean you want to talk about a no-cost acquisition, James Reimer could probably be had with a 5th round pick! His cap hit is $1 million and he's managed to keep a job in the NHL for well over a decade! Who thinks Skinner would last longer than a week before going on waivers anywhere else? Jarry was considered to be the more gifted goalie and under Schwartz's tutelage he's now in the minors. You think Skinner's lateral movement and rebound control wouldn't land him a ticket to any of those AHL hotbeds?

He hasnt helped any team he's been on. he may be an upgrade over Skinner, but not enough of one to make a discernable difference, instead of losing 6-3 we'd be losing 4-3

That is true, but cmon teams help out other teams with sweeteners. We can give the Hawks something in the offseason.

This goes back to the cup final when they had to scratch him because he was so badly injured he couldn't skate. It was pretty public he was butt hurt even though he couldn't help the team.

Kane is always about Kane. He is going to do whatever is in his best interest. He doesn't give a shit about what the org or his teammates think of him.

Servalli was on the Calgary show yesterday saying Flames are interested in Carlo too. lol Why are they hanging onto Kapanen like grim death. Klingberg as well. Both are moveable. If Boman wanted to improve the team, he could, but it's like the Oilers ask for a rolodex of excuses when they hire GMs

I suspect that the savings for non-stars are pretty minimal compared with the consequences of the clause. I understand why players want them, especially older guys. But with Salary guarantees they already have a fair bit of security. Ironically, it is the cutthroat teams like Vegas that geta way without them. Eichel, Stone, AP and Hertl are the only Knights with NMC's and Hertl's NMC turns into a NMC M-NTC next year.
