Confirmed with Link: Ivan Provorov traded to CBJ (via LA) - 1st, 2 2nds, Petersen, Walker, Grans to Philly

That’s not a little bit true.
Apparently you don’t remember Matt Greene having shoulder surgery, & the Kings acquiring Schenn as a similar-sized physical RHD to help fill the void.

No, I remember keenly, I am also a Kings fan you know. They did want Schenn, that was no small thing. I was blessed to watch a shot Lecavalier go out there and kill penalties. The idea that that Lombardi took him as a favor to complete the deal is completely false. Just because you do a deal with a franchise you have good connections to doesn’t mean you’re doing people favors, that was a huge risk to take.

He wanted Vinny, as long as he went through on his non-binding commitment to retire. Vinny did not want the indignity to be the first player to be bought out twice. Lombardi bought in on his experience, leadership, and that had a bit more to give than he was allowed to show here. Lombardi lamented that Hextall used his negotiating tactics against him.

To Lombardi’s credit, he was right, he did ok given he had more responsible people to play with and a more credible head coach.

This seems like a good start at a rebuilding to me. Not great but solid. Step in the right direction at least. Not bad at all for Danny's first move.

Just keep them coming.

the bar is low. but this is a very encouraging sign, it's a complex trade that the Flyers look very good on completion.

Trading for Provy is a lot smarter than trading for Ellis, in every respect. But I think the Flyers can be happy with this outcome.

It’s not the Flyers problem anymore (fortunately) but is Werenski enough of like an alpha dog defensemen perception wise to get Provorov to accept reality? Columbus got LA involved to get his salary/cap hit down to a second pair pay grade. So it should be interesting to see if conforms there or does he continue to mope around like he did here for years.
We got Babcock to sort it out

The note I got was that he wasn’t able to get in rhythm in Ontario but he also didn’t have a clear path to the NHL since the Kings were overloaded with RHD in their system. Sounds like he needs to get some run in with the Phantoms.

Well if you remember so keenly don’t tell me what I said “isn’t a little bit true.”

That trade was about Schenn giving them RH physical D depth due to Greene’s absence.

Lecavalier was a tacked on favor.

Re; the bolded -- Chuck Fletcher would like a word.

Because what you said wasn’t true.

They actually played that "tacked on favor." So he was more than that.

Off the top of my head, Hextall trading Coburn for Gudas, 1st (Konecny), & 3rd in 2015 was better.

This trade is certainly better than any made by Fletcher though.
That trade was better because of the scorching hot takes about how Gudas was a #7 at best.

Radko then spent the next four years as a Flyer averaging 18:32 per game (16:09 at ES), chipping in 73 points in 290 games and leading the defense in plus minus at +11. His advanced stats were good, too.

I don't think LA traded for MacEwen to play him on the 2nd line, either.
They didn't play him at all. Cause he's useless.

One playoff game out of six. 6:44 total TOI.

How sad is it that we have LOTS of Flyer's employees and TONS of fans, who would take him back in a heartbeat.

You acting like Lecavalier isn’t who we’re talking about
You’re acting like my post that you first replied to and claimed “isn’t a little bit true” didn’t say the Lecavalier trade “was more about LA getting Luke Schenn.”

Fletcher’s best trade was the one that worked out the worst. That’s just how it goes sometimes.

Fletcher's best trade was probably the Giroux trade - even though I hate his guts for so much pertaining to it, but that's the only trade I don't think we just lost...okay well Niskanen for Gudas was a push, but he retired right away so I'm calling it a meh.
