While he lacks accountability and self-awareness, there are aspects of his comment worth pointing out. The few takeaway points out of this are what many on here advocate for, sans the contrarians and dinosaurs:

Possession, offense, creativity.

This is why guys like Ginning will have an opportunity in this organization and guys like Lycksell will not.

Nothing he's said is wrong. AV ran dump and chase with a single forechecker because he was likely ordered to be defensive. Tortorella has his guys default to fighting for the puck on the boards, even when they enter with possession.

Where Provorov has it wrong, is the notion that it mattered for him at all. He's ass on an established cycle. So puck possession isn't very important for him. Where he also has it right is that the Flyers went out of their way to neutralize every strength in his game.

If Provorov goes to CBJ and becomes a top pairing perennial AS, good for him. That was never going to happen here where he showed himself to be a chronic pain. No one could pair with him. He was terrible on the PP; couldn't handle the puck as well as he thought that he could (see clip above); his passing, giving and taking, left a lot to be desired; anything that happened badly on the ice was never his fault and, as a teammate, he probably could only get along with his shadow. Now maybe with Babcock, he'll turn it around but I wouldn't bet on it.

That's another thing about him in CBJ. Top pairing isn't going to happen. Our experience with that was Provorov began to sulk when played down the roster. Werenski will be top pair and on the #1 PP both positions which Provorov covets. It'll be interesting to see how Provorov in CBJ plays out.

Two years left on his contract is a strong motivation to keep his nose clean.
