At least since Fletch is gone and now this trade, my interest started to return. Not even having pick 5 did that last year. Hopefully we keep on the pick/prospect collection and have something to look forward to in the future.
The names of prospects are only getting worse, so buckle up.It's not his fault (blame his parents), but I just can't get pumped about someone named "Cutter" being part of this organ-eye-zation. Yes, I know he goes by his middle name. I also know it's an irrational bias, but, unless he's producing 1.5 ppg in the NHL, I'm stuck in Meh Land.

i rather keep atkinson atleast till deadline, his value is all time low rni had completely forgotten that Atkinson was still on this team. yeah, he needs to go too along with his buddy Hayes.
That actually makes sense.Interesting, Friedman said yesterday on TJMS that Chicago was interested in taking Petersen.
Don’t know that they do it without getting an asset. That actually makes sense.
1) last year, Mrazek was terrible, Stalock was better but he's 36.
2) Hawks have lots of cap room and may need to reach the minimum
3) Peterson flashed potential that got him his inflated deal, Hawks can gamble on him bouncing back. Only a 2 year commitment
Would love to see him get a chance but he’s shit out of luck sadly. Unless some kind of unique opportunity presents itself.I do have to wonder what happens with Coots in the next year or so. I can't think he'll be content to go through a rebuild...but it does look like he has a full NMC...would he waive it if he looks like he is healthy this year/ next?
They need a goaltender now, they're not going to want to commit to a big UFA contract or give up major assets.Don’t know that they do it without getting an asset.

Jaxson Stauber went 5-1, but they can also get the Leafs to dump Matt Murray on them. They need a goaltender now, they're not going to want to commit to a big UFA contract or give up major assets.
Prospect goalies (Wheeler)
#7 Drew Commesso (BC) (21)
#8 Arvid Soderblom (AHL) (24)
Neither is a good bet to be an above average starter, Commesso needs time and Soderblom looks like a #2.
So Peterson could buy them two years to find a long-term answer.
Of course, Hart could be that answer, but they're still early in a rebuild, so they might not want to make that kind of commitment right now.
I always thought you were supposed to starve a trollNothing good comes out of walking into a thread and seeing a bunch of mods arguing with themselves.
Being insane is one of the prerequisites to become a mod on here.Nothing good comes out of walking into a thread and seeing a bunch of mods arguing with themselves.
as I said a few pages back...goalies like Petersen can easily hang around, bounce back with better numbers and become useful assets.Interesting, Friedman said yesterday on TJMS that Chicago was interested in taking Petersen.
maybe the coach could rehabilitate Hayes' trade value? I mean, if he is now truly part of the Flyers brain trust, wouldn't that be the smart thing to do? Hayes is not a bad NHL player by any stretch.Atkinson isn't a priority right now. He needs to come back and show he's healthy so that he can increase his value.
Hayes should be #1 on our trade list
the team and management, for me, was way more disappointing than Provy himself. yes, he somewhat trailed off from his start...but he was a footnote compared to the team's trajectory. and it's hard to bury someone who led the team in minutes played, both total and per game, every year they played for the Flyers. or pretty damn close to it.Provy goes up there with Chris Gratton on the list of disappointing Flyers.
Hayes will never be worth his current contract and he is not part of this teams future. If Briere can move him without having to add any sweetener besides retaining his salary, you do it without question.maybe the coach could rehabilitate Hayes' trade value? or is Torts still just a complete asshole, where 1% of his former players love him for how he gave them the proper tough love, and the rest have nothing to say but platitudes. even on the cusp of getting handed some of the reins for an entire club, Torts maybe can't abandon whatever his wacky core principles are. but it would be better for the Flyers if he could ease off Hayes criticism...I doubt any of the youngsters would be tainted forever by doing so.
Not even closeProvy goes up there with Chris Gratton on the list of disappointing Flyers.
I do not disagree. Retaining Hayes salary is likely inevitable in order to trade him...but does his coach have to slag him quite so hard? While he's on the trade block? Because if Torts continues nis petulant attitude...you won't move Hayes without sweeteners well beyond retained salaryHayes will never be worth his current contract and he is not part of this teams future.
