Lol we just witnessed this bozo instantly put out the 4th line after we tied the game, to instantly lose the lead. And then we later on tied the game in the 3rd, and instead of shortening the bench paying a team on a b2b with 10 minutes left, he continues to roll 4 deep, and then they take the lead with them on the ice lol... So yes he's a problem, and the biggest. He's gotten nothing out of any of the new players, no structure especially in the defensive zone, terrible pk, invisible bottom 6, every game, probably the worst 4th line in the league.

The trash D was assembled prior to Brad taking over:

Brodie - #4 dman at best, looks burnt out
Gio - geezer
Reilly - legit top pairing
Lily- was coming along, still not a top 4 yet
Timmins- suprise, he’s injured
McCabe - meh and injured

Brad added Klingberg to a group of d men devoid of offence. He has looked horrible, but he did not assemble this defence.

Precisely. And its not like another NHL team is waiting to take all of Leafs' garbage and give Leafs all of their best assets.

Like I said, it will take a lot of time to "CLEAN" the trash that Dubas did to this team.

Dubas is f***ing GARBAGE! He is the reason Leafs are in this mess
.
The dumbass inflated RFA contracts, Tavares contract, McCabe deal, Foligno deal, Kadri deal, etc.... no draft picks left, no cap left, no deep playoff runs... what kind of a SHIT GM delivers those results and keeps getting praised?

Dubas didn't anything to do with Matthews, Marner, Nylander, Rielly those are Lou-Hunter era. Dubas was a paperboy when they were drafted. Dubas fans really sicken me to my stomach. Go to the pens board this is LEAFS BOARD

No draft picks!

Screenshot 2023-11-05 at 9.42.14 AM.png

He chose to deal picks instead of prospects for players and they still have 20 picks in the next three years... Don't worry though, the team looks like they could potentially be sellers at this point so they will get more picks.

You can't say "he re-signed the RFAs" and then say "he had nothing to do with the RFAs". It is just idiotic.

Speaking of Kadri deals.

Screenshot 2023-11-05 at 9.44.20 AM.png

His is not looking so good.

No cap left? I just showed you what Treliving spent almost 20 million on... there is a difference between no cap and the available cap being spent on crap.

I am not a Dubas fan and will continue to say he failed as a GM like I always do, but when people just post false/idiotic things I tend to reply.

I hope the current GM of the team that I cheer for succeeds but early results aren't good and what he did in Calgary scares me.

We will see how the season goes I guess, I still have hope in some of our players, but a few signings he made are having expected results so far so I don't see those changing too much.

He is one of the problems but it is deeper than that. A major part is the poor cap distribution that Dubas set up. Dubas tried for 5 years to make it work with very little success. Now comes Tre with a lot of pressure to try and fix it and he has totally blown it.
I put most of the responsibility on Shanny. If they can’t turn this year around and go deep in the playoff Shanny, Tre and Keef should be gone and an “on the fly rebuild should take place but the problem is Will most likely will get signed and Marner/Tavares cannot be traded so we either have to resign them thus continue the nightmare or lick our wounds and let them walk for nothing. Either way we are looking at best a retool and at worst a rebuild.
Shanny has been the only constant. He was here with Lou, Babcock, Dubas and Keefe.

Seemingly while everything has changed, basically it has stayed the same.

I can't help but wonder if it is his philosophy to not play a more physical style. Ot if it is indeed he who wants the 4 to stay together.

I am not in panic mode. I really can't believe Bertuzzi and Domi will look this bad all season. The odds of them both falling off a cliff so dramatically is low.

Leafs were playing with their 9th and 10th dmen last night.

While not perfect, it will look better when McCabe, Lilly and Timmins are back.

I do wonder tjough how he has been the only survivor of all the playoffs failings

Your knowledge of hockey is laughable. Stop posting you are only embarassing yoruself.

Kadri was an asset that was cost controlled and should have gottne more for it.

Foligno trade: Leafs gave up 1st + sweeteners for retention
ROR trade: Leafs gave up 1st + sweeteners for retention
Rittich/Lybushkon/etc. all traded for to have ZERO results
Etc....

The current D - Rielly/Brodie/Giordano/McCabe/Timmins/etc. is all on Dubas.

You are not a dubas fan? anytime anyone criticized dubas you post bomb them. Everybody who has been posting here knows that.

Dubas was a f***ing JOKE. Get out of here. I am done talking with you. I have zero patience and respect for Dubas fanbois who cheer on Dubas eventhough he ruined this franchise. Go on pittsburgh board to cheer on that gaslighter. This is a TORONTO MAPLE LEAFS BOARD!!!

I honestly think it is just two low IQ players trying to play with higher IQ players and failing.

Generally we looked for high skill, high IQ players, and now we are trying to cram a bunch of low IQ but rougher players into the team.

Bertuzzi looked like he could keep up with Marner and Matthews, but he was basically just receiving passes.

I don't think either should be a puck carrier on their line, they look lost.

Give them high IQ line drivers and they may be able to play as a 3rd option on those lines.

Who are the worst forwards so far this year?
Who are the worst defensemen this year so far?
Who is the worst goalie this year?

Who signed all these guys?

The way you post leads me to believe you're under the age of 16 so I will take it easy on you and give you some hints... there is one name in the signings that will come up more than any other name.

I think it is hard to blame the former GM for the signings this year, but you are trying.

And again, I am a Leafs fan and have been my whole life, I will continue to cheer for them and want what's best for them. Based on early returns, I don't know how anyone with any sense can say we are better off this year than last year.

"The cap!", ya there was tons to play with this year, and look at the results.

Didn’t Treliving resign Matthews? I think you should move him into that make believe list.

Has the contract kicked in? If you believe in a player and re-sign them, I think they are now your player... I mean Lou isn't Rielly's player in this scenario that you made up either, he is Burke's, but that seems stupid.

Treliving was obviously put in a bad spot and needed bodies and I still say he should have filled out the roster with Marlies and not signed any FA, however offering tryouts to Domi and Bertuzzi has minimal affect on the over all picture.

He's a walking contradiction. Starts off his posts with, new GM needs more time to be evaluated, then slaughters him for the next 5 paragraphs.

It's like he feels he needs to put a disclaimer sentence in the post, when really it's all the other stuff that he's meaning.

I will agree he wasn't put in the ideal situation, that is on Shanahan for going off emotion and not logic.

He did have over a month to figure it out, so he should have been able to evaluate the team, and some of the signings most would say are bad without even looking at the team because they are bad players, but yes, still not an ideal situation for him.

It makes a difference for the year... I'd prefer we don't throw away seasons on tryouts, but it appears others are fine with it.

He should have used some Marlies for sure, and I am hoping that we move some of the bad players out and use them.

You can form opinions about the sample size that is currently present and still want to see more, I'll change my opinion if things turn around, this is truly not a hard concept and most people would understand that.

Treliving can be judged based on his Calgary tenure (one of the worst in the league), and what he has done so far.

I can say I want to see where his vision goes, and his start has been absolutely atrocious...

I’d put him in the same list as Knies.

Knies isn't on that list, I just didn't want to keep posting photos... that group largely consists of Treliving signings... not all are his, thought that was clear, my bad. Was just showing the players performing vs those who weren't and the top half is 100% here before Treliving (don't care if they are Dubas or Lou or Burke) and the second list is almost 100% Treliving.

Shanny hiring an apprentice GM put this franchise dangerously close to missing an opportunity of a lifetime.

There wasn't much anyone could do this year due to poor cap management. After getting trashed in 8 of 11 playoff games last year, I think most people felt this was a write-off season anyway as they wait for cap relief.

Nylander is the highest priority and his decision determines what they do going forward, and Treliving doesn’t give me confidence he’ll make wise decisions.

The option were to try Marlies or sign NHL veterans to a tryout watch

Keefe needs to go 100% his choice of lines are constantly costing us. No way #3 should be on our top pp....he sucks as he constantly makes bad choices with the puck. He cost us the game last night. Then despite getting two goals playing with top 6 players knies is playing on our 3rd line...he should be playing higher up. We need a better faster player to play on our 4th line who can defend...he plays this player on our top line who does nothing to help them out.

Our D is in complete panic mode except Rielly. We need a trade for a d man who can play while we sit out #3 who keeps costing us games.

Time for Gallant to take over this ship.

Did Keefe sign #3 ? . What about what Knies has done so far makes him deserving of a top six roll ? All I see him do is give the puck up constantly and isn’t a shooting threat at all .

If the Leafs season goes down the toilet, you thank your lucky stars Treliving signed Matthews to that deal.

Can you imagine the apocalypse we'd be staring down if Matthews was still unsigned, we face the possibility of firing Keefe and potentially missing the playoffs?

This reads pretty much like what some of us were saying was going to happen long ago. Not moving Marner or Nylander for D help will be the most costly thing. Marner was ideal because WN scores more and makes less.

No he did not sign him but he plays him in situations that costs us games. He sucks.
Knies is put in a position to carry a line and he is not ready to do so. He is a shooter and playing with players who can carry the mail will allow him to use his best asset.
Shooters are not as dangerous when they are carrying the puck. Misuse of players is constantly our coaches issue. Playing our 4th after we tie up the game. As well as not giving Domi a chance in the top 6.

#3 can be traded as we already paid half of his salary in a signing bonus. Someone will take him and try to get something for him at the trade deadline.

Marner is vastly superior of a player. Nylander is the one who should have be traded for D help. .33 goals per game vs .34 goals per game. Not a lot of difference in goal scoring.

What does Lou and the Islanders have to with Dubas mismanagement?

It was a commentary regarding what a rookie GM has done versus that of a Veteran. Both of which were options for us at the time. I really shouldn't have had to explain this.
