Is Keefe really the problem?

I think it’s a bit of both. The line combinations don’t mesh well. The d pairings don’t mesh well. Everything seems like we have a bunch of puzzle pieces but they don’t connect.

Can you play the 4th line anytime other than when we tie the game and gain momentum?
I agree he has some bad players but it’s his job to mask that. Klingberg should have been stapled to the bench tonight’s game and Reaves belongs in the press box or told to just stay at home.

Definitely wouldn’t be upset if Keefe were let go… I don’t get these line combinations at all and their deployment out on the ice is very questionable.

Keefe isn't THE problem, but it's very clear that the team Treliving wants to build is not one Keefe is suited to coaching. I think he'll be fired by the off season at the very latest barring a deep playoff run.

If the team is on the outside looking in in by December, depending on how far out, I think more likely he's gone then and Boucher is taking over.

Regardless of personnel and results a coach should be getting buy-in and effort. Is he getting that?

He is, but he doesn't have a team really. Do people actually believe the team has tuned him out?

Keefe has major flaws but to think he's responsible for this seems far fetched.

Whats he supposed to do when Brad gave him a 4th line that isn't playable? A defensive mess of a d man? Limited PKers? In fact it's a testament to Keefe he has this team near .500 despite all the additions failing and no depth scoring.

There is a good chance he gets let go and things don't improve.
is it Sullivan or Dubies fault the Pens are near the bottom of the league after the summer of Dubas ?

You cant blame the coach and the players. It's like a university prof asking a 5 year old to do calculus.

It's not the 5 years olds fault he can't do it, the university prof is an idiot for expecting it.

Who is the university prof in this scenario. Brendan f***ing Shanahan.

He didn’t have them ready to start the season. Preseason was a bit disorganized. He is in over his head and it’s now clear he is a sub par coach.

I never cared for Keefe. I've never seen him outshine another coach. He just got his coaching record on the backs of some talented players.

I didn't like how he deployed the lines tonight in some specific situations.

I personally do not feel the team would have any more success with another coach.

The core has to change for the team's aura to change.

Random thought on this season so far... we brought back the coach and the core AND the supporting cast is significantly weaker (imo). Plus the goaltending has been pretty meh overall. Makes sense we are trending down.
