The only reason the numbskulls keep *****ing about Pionk is because there is a belief that choice of one has to do with the other. This ****ing projecting **** is nauseating.
Yea, it’s annoying and I’m considering taking a short break from hfboards because of this same old crap that never ends.

Nice to see some votes for Zucc when he deserves it.

And these talks with Quinn and others really helped. I believe he's ready for a possible departure now, still going to be emotional but not a shock. As he said, he's a professional, and he must play like one. Understands the business part, it's not because they think he's a bad player.

The Oilers is one of several interesting destinations for him, I'd really like to see him as McDavid's winger.

What @nevesis is to Hank, you are to Zucc.

I’ve never been a fan. I think him playing 25 mins a night is a lot of why we suck in our end. And he gets a free pass from the coaches no matter what he does. I don’t get it.

I also fall in the 'never was a fan camp.' I thought he was fine as a project/borderline prospect, but I never had high hopes for him and frankly have never liked his overall game. Sure, he's good on the power play, so was MAB and I never liked him. Kid is undersized, not good in his own zone at all and surely can't handle top minutes. Maybe there's a future for him as a bottom pairing, PP specialist, but I need better context to have a better idea if it's possible.

ADA on the other hand is supremely talented. It's literally his mental shit that's blocking his progress. I really hope the team doesn't give up on him, because he really has the chance to be something special. It's not uncommon to have some guys mature later than others and if he does, he can really be a Letang type of player IMO.

I’ve been saying this for the longest time. Why not both? I like DeAngelo a bit more, but I still consider Pionk a valuable piece to this team. It amazes me how we’ve gone from zero promising RD with no skill to 3 promising RD with offensive prowess in such a short time. Most organizations probably wish they had this so-called “problem.” I love it, and I welcome it. But now people want to tear one down to bring the other one up. Both sides are doing it, and I am not a fan. Besides, shouldn’t Shattenkirk be the odd man out if need be? He’s older, slower, more expensive, and less skilled. Maybe if he was shipped out, then people would be more relaxed about this.

I'm lower on Pionk then you and higher on ADA, but I completely agree with you around how the Rangers should handle this.

Pionk still possibly has a future, as does ADA, while Shattenkirk will certainly have no role on the next incarnation of a cup contending squad that this team ices. He should be sold for whatever we can get and big minutes can be given to Pionk and ADA. Although I'd hope they'd give Pionk better matchups instead of playing him like he's the next McDonagh.

Shattenkirk’s kids will be past their prime by the time the Rangers are contending again.

No one is higher on ADA than me, in my opinion. He’s my favorite player in the NHL.

The Rangers could have had about 12 goals that game. Carolina is awful. How do they have a winning record. Maybe it was just an off night. But based on tonight’s game I’d say they look like a 1OA contender.
Are they missing some injured players?

Zib, Zucc, and ADA are my stars with HMs for Henrik, Buch, and a Purple Heart for McQuaid.

Yeah ADA is really talented. I am not even sure if he has that many 'issues', kids in these roles just need a lot of time to get that consistency. The marginals are so small, if a forward don't get 100% wood on a one-timer on a PP we forget it after 2 seconds, but if a D makes a similar technical mistake it sticks forever and is an unforgivable mistake.

Pionk is pretty awsome in many areas and need to improve a little in others. Think he can become a steady NHL D in a non top 1-2 role and potentially more than that with the perfect partner. K'Andre-Pionk is a pairing that has some potential! :)

Buchnevich is odd. Have any of you ever seen this kid look like he's even remotely happy at all? He's just always got this look on his face like he's a ten year old you told was going to do something awesome, but the plans fell through. I am not sold on him becoming much. I don't think the combination to unlock his potential is something he possesses.

Yeah, I don’t see it with Pionk. I see a bottom-pairing Dman who should be sheltered, and not be a partner for Staal. The fact that Staal has looked much better next to ADA should be the giveaway. ADA is becoming the Dman equivalent of Kreider, a player who positively impacts his line/partner in terms of possession. Hopefully, Quinn does have a handle on the proper approach with ADA.
