This might sting a little, but I think Tony's parents are higher on him than you both combined.

Happens all the time.

This board is arguably one of the smartest sections of the forum. But if it has one big flaw, it’s that it tends to be very reactionary and (increasingly) black and white.

As a result, it can be difficult to balance the euphoria and over-stating that happens when things go well, with the the despair and slash and burn approach when it doesn’t.

Not going to lie, even when I was a reporter and editor on the site, it could be exhausting. Some days, the reactions are more exhausting than the actual games and players.

I don’t want to say you ever get used to it, so much as you just tend to roll your eyes and move on.

Ergo, your avatar? Nice fit. I get it.

So according to this.......Staal had a really good game cf/ca is 21/13? I still dont quite understand. And i really should. There was a time NO ONE would be better than i was, with baseball stats. Just never took to hockey in similar fashion.
I guess i got old and lazy, and relegated rto saying "I use my eyes" telling me who did well and who didnt.
That's correct, Staal had 21 for and 13 against. That's good stuff.

I’ve never been a fan. I think him playing 25 mins a night is a lot of why we suck in our end. And he gets a free pass from the coaches no matter what he does. I don’t get it.
Maybe they feel that pushing him 25 will lead him into eventually playing 20, and he will be better for it.
In comparison to playing anyone else 25? I mean, who else can really do that? We traded our last overworked 25 minute man.

I’ve been saying this for the longest time. Why not both? I like DeAngelo a bit more, but I still consider Pionk a valuable piece to this team. It amazes me how we’ve gone from zero promising RD with no skill to 3 promising RD with offensive prowess in such a short time. Most organizations probably wish they had this so-called “problem.” I love it, and I welcome it. But now people want to tear one down to bring the other one up. Both sides are doing it, and I am not a fan. Besides, shouldn’t Shattenkirk be the odd man out if need be? He’s older, slower, more expensive, and less skilled. Maybe if he was shipped out, then people would be more relaxed about this.
Oh gosh......I just KNOW i have said this many times, but that is okay. Its not plagiarism, its just that it would make much too much sense. I mean, what Shatty wants, Shatty gets? This really shouldn't be an issue......just ship out the one that will bring back the most, or at least lessen our cap. Lessen the logjam.

FALSE... I am the highest on ADA and i think everyone knows it and is tired of it lol

Althought we tend to agree on a lot of things you and i...
That’s true. We do indeed see eye to eye on many things. And I think people are tired of both of us. But hey, he’s my favorite player in the NHL, though. Who is yours?

Quinn really did not enjoy those couple questions about Buch. Pretty clear that they're at odds right now; it's no wonder Buch looked so demure celebrating his goals.

I'm starting to form the opinion that Buch needs to be handled with kid's gloves a bit.
Kind of acting like a big baby.......seems like he feels he "deserves" everything, self righteous (if you will). And if he doesnt get 1st line, playing with Zbad and Kreids he aint happy.
He should have been elated he had PP time, and scored 2 goals and "hoping for" the chance to move up the ladder line. I root for him to be better every game, and feel frustrated for him.....but saying that, he needs to grow up, put on his big boy pants. He doesnt deserve shit right now, until he plays UP to his potential, in other words BUST YOUR ASS!

Finally a great question. Which blogger snuck in to the press room?

And with every great question......maybe you get a great answer (especially with Quinn)
His answer is resounding. Makes TOTAL sense. You're playing on the 4th line because you don't deserve to be in the top 9, let alone 6. But......you ARE good enough to be on the PP (based on talent) and need you to score and feel better about yourself. Do well, play hard and you will be rewarded. Period. Thats what i get out of it,

Honestly, we "should" take into consideration that scoring is UP throughout the league. Nice if he gets 70+, but would be interesting to see what other players spike up to 70 along with him. Occasionally he has these magical 4 pt. nights, then produces 0 for 2-4 games. I would think we need consistent 1 pt nights, sprinkled in with many 2 pt games.
He has had 3......3 game scoreless spurts. 2 of which surrounded a 4pt night vs Nashville. So, 4 pts in that 7 game stretch doesnt look so bad......but overall, is that really good?
Here.....look for yourselves. Love Mika, just would like more consistency from him......if indeed he is our 1C moving forward.

But many PPG players have a 3-4 point night, and then go 3 games without a point.

I’m not sure I understand the point. You’re saying you agree?

Yeah, i know ......thats a fact. Easy math, 1 pt per game is 82.
Those 3 and 4 pg nights allow for games with zero. Just would like less zero games, thats all i am saying. He looks so dynamic sometimes, dont understand why he is kept off scoresheet as often as he is.
I know this isnt fair but, here goes. McDavid has had 6 games without a point, and as many 3pt games, with 2, 4 pt games.
Mika has had 21 games without a pt........nearly half of 46 gp. Way too many off nights.
☆☆ has had 3, 4 pt. games (more than Connor), but zero 3 pointers.

That's extremely unfair; comparing Mika to arguably the best player ever? comparing anyone to McDavid.

Stamkos hasn't scored a point in 18 games in 47. More accurate comparison. The caveat, Stamkos has MUCH better talent around him. Zibanejad was playing with Fast and Vesey?

Don't understand why people get so upset with Zibanejad. He's wildly outproducing and outperforming both what we traded away to get him AND his cap hit. Not sure comparing him to McDavid makes any sense.

Dude is 25, on a 70 point pace, leading our team in points, and getting paid 2nd liner money. Signed for another 3 years on that sweet deal, and has outproduced Brassard since the trade by a fair margin.

If people aren't happy with him they are never going to be happy.

These are the kind of games that I enjoy. Yeah the whole tank thing goes out the window, but when guys like Mika are having 4 point nights, its a good thing.... just hope he is not going to go dry the next several games.

He should've put Buchnevich on the first PP since the beginning of the season. Nobody can disagree with the fact the Buchnevich has always been a very good PP player.

This is true......and believe me, i know it wasnt fair.....i stated i am a Zbad fan, just put myself out there. I wasnt disappointed in getting jumped on.

Playing with Vesey and Fast......yeah, i get that as well.

It's the HF boards way. Criticism of players is sometimes too over the top and is unwarranted. Mika is playing great this year on a team that is not doing well, and not contending. So happy he is here, and it makes the games more enjoyable when him and players like Kreider have nights like this.

Just to add Mika's numbers this year are 1C numbers easily.

Everything you said is so true. I wanted him on the Rangers even BEFORE that miracle happened. Great trade and I loved Brassgod.
First bold.....no, it wasnt fair, and you were being nice
2nd bold......I am happy to have him, and in some similar fashion, would like more consistency like we clamoured for/from Kreids all these years. Thats all i really said.

Probably a complacency issue. He was on the PP earlier in the year, wasnt he? It has no evolved to this. Quinn is attempting to get more out of him, in a roundabout way, without hurting the team by him NOT being on the PP. My take.

I dont consider what i said as being critical of him. Wanting consistency? Thats critical? If anything, i believe sometimes people don't track back to original statements, and its easier to jump on board, based on what others misconstrue what was originally said.

I'm talking more in general to this entire forum, not to what you said specifically. I even made a comment that I hope he does not go dry the next several games.

Kreider stirs the offensive drink. I think we have proven that with Zib, Hayes, Zucc... everyone that plays with him goes on an offensive tear.
Don't forget Chytil. He was on fire when he was paired with Kreider. I don't know why DQ separated them. The kid needs another shot of confidence.
