That’s true. We do indeed see eye to eye on many things. And I think people are tired of both of us. But hey, he’s my favorite player in the NHL, though. Who is yours?
Its definitely him this year.. The amazing plays he makes combined with the feisty-ness. You always know hes going to do something interesting.. I mean last night he basically made the coyotes take a penalty because his breakout pass to chytil was beyond perfect. Chytil was goin to fly into the zone for a breakaway.

Don't forget Chytil. He was on fire when he was paired with Kreider. I don't know why DQ separated them. The kid needs another shot of confidence.
Because away from Kreider and Hayes, chytil is a total non-factor... He has to be able to be an addition to the line, not just rely on those guys to set him up.

So the greatest lines in the history of hockey would never have existed if everyone thought like that. The kid is a wing, not a center. He doesn't have to be a playmaker. Just put him on a line with Kreids and let the kid score away. So he isn't much good without him. So use him where you get the most out of him. Geez!!

I understand that sentiment but we also want Chytil to grow as a player. Not just put up points as a passenger on a top line. If we teach him to drive play himself he can be the next kreider.

Kreider stirs the offensive drink. I think we have proven that with Zib, Hayes, Zucc... everyone that plays with him goes on an offensive tear.

And, again, now imagine if the Rangers were lucky enough to draft Jack Hughes. And that’s why I want a massive overpayment if I’m Gorton to move Kreider.

It's the HF boards way. Criticism of players is sometimes too over the top and is unwarranted. Mika is playing great this year on a team that is not doing well, and not contending. So happy he is here, and it makes the games more enjoyable when him and players like Kreider have nights like this.

Just to add Mika's numbers this year are 1C numbers easily
.

No arguments here.

Everything you said is so true. I wanted him on the Rangers even BEFORE that miracle happened. Great trade and I loved Brassgod.
First bold.....no, it wasnt fair, and you were being nice
2nd bold......I am happy to have him, and in some similar fashion, would like more consistency like we clamoured for/from Kreids all these years. Thats all i really said.

Fair enough.

I think consistency is an overblown concept around here. Very few players in the world come with their A game for all 82 games of the season. For various reasons, some days people don't have it. It gets more pronounced on a bad team when there isn't anyone else stepping up in their place when our top guys don't have it.

Only people with the most elite of talents show up every night, and thats because their talents make up for not having the best of nights.

These are the kind of games that I enjoy. Yeah the whole tank thing goes out the window, but when guys like Mika are having 4 point nights, its a good thing.... just hope he is not going to go dry the next several games.
It's sort of like breakup/makeup sex.

Well, he must have been ultra amazing if he made the Coyotes take a penalty last night when the Yotes didn't even play!!

Reactions: Rangers in 7
Thought it was a great game by the boys.

Zibanejad continues to show why I’d like him here over the longer haul.

We can debate whether he’s the guy we want centering a first line, or a potentially top shelf second line center, but the reality is that he’s more or less maintained a 70 point pace throughout the year.

Should that continue, it would make him the first Ranger to reach the mark since Gaborik in 2012, and the first center to do so since Gomez in 2008.

Absolutely never should have even been speculated to be traded. Utterly ridiculous. The guy is a monster, and the fact that we got him for Brassaed makes it even better.

Build around this guy.

Finally a great question. Which blogger snuck in to the press room?

And for context, there was another question about Buch that immediately followed these.

The guy asked if Buch's conversations with Quinn this time around were about the same things as they were in October when he had been scratched for that first string of games. Quinn said that it was mostly the same with an added element.
