Agree with logic for sure .. my thinking is even if he had a complete 100% personality changeover he still brings skills we already have more than we need .. to me I would bring in 5 guys who could be next Zach .. right now we got 2 in Anderson and Bunting hoping we get a Zach .. when reality is we need 3 Zachs on this team - one for each line

Sorry just quoting this post but referring to your one before this.

but there is always two sides to every story. The only side we really heard was the Islanders side. The NHL does a fantastic job of silencing players. Ho-Sang was def a hard player to deal with. But I really believe if Garth Snow was still the GM Ho-Sang would have been a top player for them. Not everyone responds well to a military style set up. That’s exactly what Lou does, intimidates anyone who doesn’t follow his “laws”. Like if I was an NHL player and Lou told me to cut my hair I’d tell him to go f*** himself and take it up with the PA. You can’t force me to cut my hair. It’s just stupidity that certain teams still operate this way.

it’s not a positive environment. Even with all the success I think if you caught any of those players in a Candid moment they’d tell you the truth it’s bullshit

What happened to the need for scoring depth? Why would we want 5 guys who can't score? It isn't like Hyman opened anything up for anyone either.

Truly don't understand the logic of wanting more subpar skilled players, everyone will point to Tampa, but everyone on their "grinder" line had more skill than Hyman, the "grinders" on the top lines also have more skill.

Lou is tough but he plays 2nd fiddle to da Marlie Nazi and Bougie .. Josh has had hard asses in charge everywhere he has played since 6 that's for sure .. but again he can't get along with his team mates .. it is partially coaches/gms yes but mostly team mates .. when you tell your captain to go f*ck himself and back check yourself cause I'm better than you it does not endear himself to his team mates

It is about line mix and having guys on each line who can forecheck and turn over pucks .. not everyone can be Zach who was #2 in NHL in pucks turned over on fore check .. Bunting can help i think he was like 10th in league .. but we need guys, skill really does not matter here, it is hard work, physical strength and intensity on puck which count on forecheck .. someone has to create puck turnovers and pick up loose pucks on wall

This guy is trending towards Robie Schremp territory

Why would Coyotes or any team trade for him if they can have him now for free?
Agreed. My point being: is he will be a regular in the lineup where ever he lands. 40- 60 point output. Skillset is undeniable.

The kid had a large chip on his shoulder long before he met Lou Lam.

Where are you finding this information? Would be curious to check this out... but I know Marner and Matthews have far more takeaways than Hyman.

Hard work is thrown around a lot without knowing who is working hard. Hyman looks like he is working hard, and I am sure he is but is he working harder than other players, or is his skating just terrible so it looks like it?

I'd be shocked if Hyman was statistically a better forechecker than Matthews, the difference is Matthews uses body position and stick work over the hard-nosed approach.

I don't know either but stats are kept by league as cited by 1050 radio channel host at 1 pm yesterday .. I was surprised to hear but Marchand was #1

I can understand why, he was better than Connor McDavid at one point. Hockey Canada invested a lot more resources and energy into propping up McDavid as the golden child. This is a problem, how do you think young kids are going to react, it's not fair and I'm not surprised that Ho-Sang took it personally against McDavid. I'm not going to put it 100% on Hockey Canada because Ho-Sang should have responded better. But Hockey Canada has played a large part in destroying Ho-Sang's reputation, which is so sad because they should have done everything to build McDavid and Ho-Sang up together instead of practically pitting them against each other.

even McDavid himself says Ho-Sang is a good guy and misunderstood. The media has blown it out of proportion that Ho-Sang hates him

He has had issues on teams since before his minor midget year. Moved from one team to the next. Trouble in the OHL as well.
Not placing blame at any one's feet but the one consistent since he was 10 is issues with teammates or org. staff.

When you're Ovechkin or Jagr or Kessel, you might get away with ignoring the "backcheck". When you're not, you're on a tryout in your prime.

If McDavid is so cool with Ho Sang, why isn't he at Oilers' camp right now? They'd be room for him on that team.

that is complete hearsay. no one actually knows what was said. They had issues when they are kids. They've gotten past it. and just because their cool it doesn't mean an automatic invite to camp. This isn't the NBA, that doesn't happen in the NHL even if you have a good reputation

He is not eligible for the Oilers camp because he signed a PTO with Toronto. The Oilers like any other team, can offer him an SPC at any time. He is not obligated to sign one with the Leafs. His PTO can be terminated before the end of camp as well.

Ya..it reminds of the old saying " If you're running into assholes all day...maybe you're the asshole".

Where there is smoke...there is fire. I hope the kid can straighten himself out..but he seems to be a real piece of work. I doubt other teams would be passing up on the chance to sign him if all the rumours were just vapor...
