The Americans got jobbed, but they agreed to the rules. You can't use video review if one of the host buildings can't be outfitted to use it for certain games.

I imagine next year they'll make sure to use only buildings with television capability.

Not sure how you can blame the refs though. That's where you need replay .. it happens too fast .. to distinguish when the puck went in vs the horn vs the light.
If there is no replay , there is no replay.. it was a mistake , and it was unfortunate for the US team who played well enough to play for Gold.
It taints the victory for Canada but not too long ago . there was no video review and this call would have stood 50% of the time.. its a call and no one would have felt bad they won that way.

Your A team in reality just lost to USA's B team. Wouldn't be gloating.

LOL

At all the B team crap it’s a fun tournament in the summer that means nothing.

It’s fun to watch and fun for the kids to get to put in the country’s jerseys. It doesn’t mean much so trying to pass it off like it makes a lick of difference that it’s supposedly your B team doesn’t really matter.

From a USA standpoint it was interesting for me to finally see these kids in the tournament since I saw them at the development selectiom camp and this was their first game on air. Standouts in a good way to me were Farinacci, Robertson, Toporowski, Groll, Mastrosimone, Miller, Webber, Reid and Wolf.

I doubt it seeing as it is back in Slovakia and the Czech Republic. The majority of IIHF tournaments run without video review....and well this isn't even an IIHF tournament. The tournaments in Europe previously looked closer to what a Midget house team would play in let alone be good enough to be fitted for video review. The refs made a mistake it is what it is.

That's false.

Just like that.

He has 2% vision.

He also set up Dach for an open net off a 2-on-1 in the first. A nice stretch pass from his own zone to spring Dach/Lafreniere on another 2-on-1. Made a nice play to chip the puck out of traffic and onto a Canadian player's stick to begin what would eventually become the tying goal.

He gets the puck to where it needs to be. Not with the same flair as Dach, but still very effective.

He's been Canada's second best player after Lafreniere this tournament IMO. He's very strong on the puck, does everything really well and has a hell of a motor; in the Mike Richards or Jayden Schwartz mold.

Again.

Expert in contract law: Agreed upon terms with offer, acceptance, and consideration signed by all parties free from undue influence and agreed to in good faith = valid contract.

All federations agreed to the contract. Straight forward application of contract law in the Anglo common law tradition (UK, USA, Canada) and continental civil codes tradition (non common law European powers).

Terms were agreed to and enforced. Ultimately this led to probably the U18 game that will be watched again by future generations more than any prior U18 game.

I would be pissed if this happened to Canada, but at the end of the day, those were the rules and unfortunately the Americans have to live with it. I don't think it's fair to take away credit from a guy like Cozens, he came up clutch and scored at the end of the game.

That’s terrible They have review for or a least fix the Robertson goal, but they won’t make the right call at the end. As a Canadian I feel sick we ended up winning that, what a complete **** up.
They did not have review... They conferred ..refs saw the goal go in.. they called it a goal.... there was no time running out issue. Not close to the same situation. was there .01 second on the clock or had it run out... they have no way to know for sure without a video review ... AND there was no review available.

Folks saying this game means nothing show their ignorance. Those kids work hard and the team that actually won doesn't get to play for the gold.

One of the greatest comebacks in the history of best-on-best hockey

Cozens goal was clutch. Forget the lack of a fraction of a second... No one quit playing .. It was right there. Anyway I think the timekeeper started the clock just a little early on the last faceoff. I want the video review of that.

Just saw the play on TV, yikes! Tough call, can't get em all right without the ability to review. USA still had a chance at least to close it out in OT.

.....and this is why this tourney should be kept in the Czech Republic. No replays, seriously? It's either amateur hour with Hockey Canada or the fix is in.
