I do think that when healthy they can roll 4 lines with anyone but not sure there will be enough offence.

I'm expecting a lot of low scoring games so long as Price plays like he can.

My biggest worry is Montoya stinking it up, he's looked terrible thus far. I think there is a legit chance we Lindgren win the backup job. Julien said he wants price to play 55 games, so that means 27 games at the least will be available to the backup. That's 1/3 of the season. Having the best guy in there is HUGE.

In my opinion Lindgren should either start this game or next for the whole game. We know what Montoya has to offer already.

Better for Lindgren to play more regularly in the AHL...

Montoya is just a placeholder for now.

Better for him to sit than Price

Agreed, no reason to rush Lindgren. Say what you want about Condon but he looked very promising and his rookie year could have been much more impressive if they eased him into the NHL after 2 years in AHL. Granted at the end of the day, Condon looks to have rebounded to likely have a decent NHL career.

In a world where Waite told us Price should play less this year, you might talking about at least 25 games for Montoya. That's 50 points. If he brings the same type of goaltending, we are not making the playoffs.

If Lindgren is ready next year. He could be ready this year. And the sooner he proves his worth, the sooner we will have something for his services....

Damn! That sucked part of my excitement for tonight.

At this point, is there any ****ing reason to get excited for this season? I mean... It's a disaster of a training camp. I won't need a whole lot of motivation to go to the gym or to boxing lessons this fall...

As a true backup that year, I think Condon may have been alright. Sadly, he got thrusted into a #1 role he clearly wasn't ready for and had no support.

Galchenyuk back to center! :scared:

Or, Mitchell centers Patches and Gally. Chuck needs to know his role and stay on Danault's wing :sarcasm:

Honestly, I hope this is what happens. But I get the sense the Habs want to keep Galchenyuk with Hemsky to build some chemistry between them.

Wouldn't mind seeing:

Pacioretty - Galchenyuk - Hemsky
Hudon - Plekanec - Lehkonen
Byron - Danault - Gallagher
Mitchell - De La Rose - Froese

Yes. he would had been just fine. He is one of the main reasons Ottawa did so well last season despite missing Anderson for a long time.

I'm wondering if we would prefer to keep Drouin out against the Leafs at this stage anyways. If Drouin is nursing any pain at all, let him sit and get ready for the season when the games count.

What are the line-up predictions now that Drouin is out for tonight?

Patch / Galchenyuk / Hemsky
Hudon / Pleky / Lehkonen
Byron / Danault / Gallagher
DLR / Froese / Mitchell

Mete / Weber
Alzner / Petry
Davidson / Benn

True. Condon was a good back up, and he did very good in Ottawa that earned his extension there. However, at last year's camp, Montoya out played him.

Condon's confidence might had been lowered by the fact Habs signed UFA Montoya instead of giving him the backup role full time.

Condon was lucky to go to Pittsburg, and then being taken off waiver by Ottawa which had lost Anderson for a while due to family matters. Glad for him.

How about you put Holland centering our top players? Guy going back to Toronto....no? Do you really need to know what Mitchell can give you?
