Softy of the night is this Simon Holmstrom goal on John Gibson



I just had to. It was between this or the Lafreniere (or whatever the Kings guy’s name is) goal on Hellebuyck and the goal on Hellebuyck seemed much more flukier.

Love Butch Goring (who I don’t often agree with) calling him out for how he’s down on this one.

Lots of stoppable goals, but not many good softy of the night contenders.

Ok, why was VV’s goal stoppable? Because of the lack of rebound control or not having a better lateral movement rather than the dive?
 
Skinner was absolutely trash last night. Vasilevksy was the difference in a high scoring affair. I wish the Lightning were in rebuild mode and needed to dump salary. It would be like Patrick Roy getting traded to Colorado 2.0. Timing is everything this includes Timo time lol.

Vanecek was the better goalie in Washington.

Samsonov’s only particularly good season in the NHL was last year.

He was fine in 19-20 as a rookie, but was used very sparingly. They didn’t let him play enough games because they were still worried about making pending UFA Holtby happen. And Holtby was terrible that last season in Washington.

Softy of the night is this Juuso Parssinen goal on Antti Raanta



Rebound was reminiscent of the one on Vitek the other night, only he still had a really good chance at the shot that was the goal cause it happened quite a few seconds later, but it still leaks through him.

Sorry, made a typo on the goals against Forsberg and Wedgewood/Dallas and fixed it.

Also didn’t realize Oettinger allowed the first two and left hurt. So I fixed that.

Not that it matters, because neither got nailed for a goal stoppable, but that’s a f*** up on my part to not include the right goalies.

It’s been fixed.

Goalies were good tonight. Looking through a list of games where every goalie is 0 or 1 SGA makes me sad when watching Markstrom and Vladar tend goal this year. Vladar was good tonight tho but he was like average NHL goalie good. He did his job. Vasy was rough tho.
