Not sure what it is with this team, only player always comes out of the gate looking like they shouldn’t make the echl team… petey last year and demko+++ this year. Just terrible. Burn it down please I’m sick of watching these guys and I’m quite sure they’re all sick of playing with each other at this point.

But from our Willie D and Tortorella days, we have most talent on this current roster ! (I’m aware to the Sedins and such, but they were on the decline)

I don’t get it.I feel we need to “lose” a trade or two and try desperately to get an adequate top 4 defender.
a large issue is roster construction

the only players that have been targeted for years have been soft skill, one dimensional offensive types. any other type of skill people bring along with them is happenstance

this roster has never been so poorly put together in terms of the mix necessary to properly compete

this canucks team is a dead ringer for one slapped together on an ea sports game, focused only on getting to that next glitch goal as soon as possible

I’m actually surprised at the amount you all seem to adore Boudreau. He’s a good regular season coach that is noted for his lack of structure. Had a poor camp and has consistently been dressing suboptimal lineups at every opportunity.

While I do think Bruce is a decent coach. His resume is hilariously bloated by having Ovie in his prime. Not to mention Green when he was basically a forward on defense. Put him on a less offensive team that can't just force wins and he wouldn't have nearly the same success.

Bedard won't be the answer either.. This team needs a complete culture change that focuses on defense

I mean, all they really need to do is gut this core of players, which has often and repeatedly proven to not have what it takes to win consistently. Everything else is rather meaningless at this point. It appears we’ve amassed a collection of complementary pieces, some of them quite high end, but lack the glue to hold anything together.

Interesting. I appreciate the thoughtful answer.

I don’t agree entirely. However, I have adopted some new thoughts about this team

Demko continues to be outplayed by every goalie he faces, even his own backup. 4g on less than 30 shots..

Hughes would win the Norris if he had even a single mean bone in his body. Just plays too nice, no edge, all the skills in the world.

I no longer care when we lose to the Leafs or Bruins, like not a flinch, not a nothing... 8 years ago i would have been angry about it. Also made no effort to watch the game today, and didnt care that i missed most of it yesterday. I use to really like watching the games and complaining about the losing... Now meh, just sarcasm about the losing is about it...

Clearly you forgot to look at his winning % with the Ducks and Wild..
