Couldn’t agree more. I haven’t played it in a while but I played it for a solid two months straight when it came out on Xbox and had fun every time. I think I need to get back into it.

The game is so tense given it's essentially one shot and you're dead but also kind of soothing given how minimalist it is compared with all other online FPS' nowadays. No indicators at all when you get a kill, push to talk comms clears the air from all the nonsense of kids screaming or people listening to music etc. The game really lets you focus and get into a groove.

Everyone is planning their playing schedules around Elden Ring and I'm over here waiting for Gran Turismo. Anyways my current rotation

Xenoblade Chronicles: Definitive Edition
Star Wars Jedi Fallen Order

I actually did start up Fallen Order by seeing everyone getting hyped for Elden Ring. I have no experience in the Souls games and I'm pretty sure I'm terrible at these kind of games since I can get into mindlessly mashing mode pretty easy. So Fallen Order is supposed to be like baby's first Souls game I guess, I'm doing okay. The game is pretty well done considering how bad a lot of Star Wars games have been, I'm enjoying it.

You put it well. The intensity, simplicity, and maturity are a breath of fresh air compared to other modern shooters

I need to try Insurgency Sandstorm again. I was pretty hyped for it when it came out but enjoyed the original Insurgency a lot more. I wasn't a big fan of the bigger, more open maps of Sandstorm at first. I wonder how I'd feel about it if I gave it another go now.

I’m currently playing The Last of Us Remastered, God of War, and Diablo 2 Resurrected (just about to beat Hell and then will give it a break for a while). I’m really not seeing the critical acclaim of TLOU and GoW. Like they’re both very cinematic games with a decent enough storyline but that’s about it. The gameplay isn’t anything special so far, but I’m only about 5 hours or so into each game. TLOU seems to be mostly “stealth” gameplay that isn’t very fun; I’m hoping that changes soon.

I also want to start going through From Software’s catalogue now that Elden Ring is out. I’ve only played Dark Souls and Dark Souls 3. I’m thinking of starting with Bloodborne (came free with PS+), and then play the Remastered Demon’s Souls, then Sekiro, then Elden Ring (hopefully it will have gone on sale by then).

TLOU is pretty much all about the story. The gameplay kind of sucks IMO.

A lot of people around here seem to think GoW was good, not great. I liked it a lot, but it was the first single player game I played in 15 years probably. So I don't know how I'd feel about it if I played it now. I'll just say, I think you've got to do the side stuff to make it worth it, especially the Valkyries that you run into later. If you just follow the main story, I could see it being underwhelming. I ended up platinuming it and besides searching for some of the collectables, I thought it was fun.

Also, Sekrio is quite different than the Soulsborne games IMO. You'll have an adjustment period going from Demon's Souls to Sekiro and then again going from Sekiro to Elden Ring.

Been playing Dead by Daylight on PS4 for years. Anyone else play it here? Survivor main? Killer main?
New to it!

I am a pretty alright killer but I suck as a survivor. I try to keep busy, unhooking, fixing generators etc, but as soon as the killer finds me I am done for. I have very little chances of escaping. Is there a huge advantage to play a survivor like Meg when escaping?

I started playing Moonlighter, has anyone else played it? It seems REALLY grindy. I feel like I'll need to do 3 dungeon runs just to upgrade a single piece of gear. The time in the shop takes a while too considering how much the NPCs just walk around the store aimlessly before buying something.

Yea, I had the same issues as you do with it

Meg "feels" faster than someone like Jake Park to me anyways lol but im not sure if she actually is. The advantages come in knowing the map, anticipating the killers move, perks like dead hard and balanced landing etc. I been playing for a long time as a survivor main and I still have a hard time escaping killers mainly due to my build. My buddy who just started playing and is great at getting chased by a killer and getting away.

Kind of between games at the moment. Will probably give Bowser's Fury a try later this week or early next, but nothing really on my radar for the next few weeks until the new Kirby game on the 25th.

Gunfire Reborn released a patch a few months ago like a week after I got all the achievements with 6 new achievements. I finally came around to playing it again just to get the last few achievements. Finished those up last night to perfect the game again.

I started playing Toodee & Topdee, it's a pretty interesting puzzle/platformer. Each stage is just a single screen and you can control two characters. One is in the 2D world and another is in a 3D world. The 3D character has to carry objects around the room to create new paths for the 2D character. It's a really interesting take on the genre. It definitely feels really unique. I'm enjoying it so far.

I'm trying to think of some NES/SNES games to add to OpenEmu but I'm drawing blanks here. I was always a Sega kid growing up in that era so trying to think of Nintendo games is hard. Any recs?

What kind of games do you want on there? Best SNES game ever IMO was Chrono Trigger so that's an obvious must. I remember one of the hidden gems on SNES was Terranigma, hidden gem moreso because it was never released in NA, just in EU.

Blades of Steel
Castlevania 1-3
Contra 1-2
Dragon Warrior 1-4
Double Dragon 1-3
Ghosts 'n' Goblins
Kid Icarus
Mega Man 1-6
Mike Tyson's Punch-Out!
Ninja Gaiden 1-3
Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles 1-3
The Legend of Zelda

SNES:
Super Mario World
Super Mario Kart
Aladdin
Donkey Kong Country 1-3
Mega Man 7
Star Fox
Street Fighter II
Super Ghouls 'n' Ghosts
Super Star Wars
The Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past

Those are many of the most popular ones. I didn't get into the SNES nearly as much as the NES, so I'm surely missing some there.
