I've been addicted to Mini Motorways. It's a casual city sim where you just lay out roads to try to keep up with traffic. Buildings always get placed in different locations as you try to set up roads accordingly to minimize traffic. A run usually lasts 20 minutes or so but I keep finding myself going back for more and more and more.

Just beat Returnal and Halo Infinite. Both were a lot of fun, especially Returnal. I've never been into games like it that are intentionally difficult, but it turns out it's more rewarding than frustrating honestly. Defeating bosses feels so good. Gonna have to mess around with the Souls series

Kinda mixed on what to play next. Have started the following:

Fallout: New Vegas
Oblivion
ESO
Rage 2 (not the strongest I've heard, I enjoyed the first hour tho lol)
Devil May Cry 5
Crysis Trilogy Remastered
GTA: San Andreas
Deathloop (like 5-8 hours in already, but have been off and on playing it for months now so not really hooked)
FF7 Remake
FF15 (like 10+ hours in - haven't played in a while tho)

About to start:
Dark Souls 3
Metal Gear Solid 5

Think I might continue on with San Andreas and maybe progress further into ESO...but not sure yet. FF7 and 15 are definitely near the top as well. These games seem to take a bit of time to really get in to so I'm basically playing until one grabs my attention first. Eventually I'll get to all of them. If only I had more time . My backlog is massive right now with several classics like some of these that I haven't played.

Playing through Mass Effect series for the first time through the legendary edition. I think I’m close to finishing the first game and DAMN what a game, especially for how old it is. Can’t wait to play 2 and 3.

EDIT:Yep, finished the first game. Didn’t do very many side quests and stuck mainly to the story. Started the second game and early on I’m a little disappointed by the use of ammo rather than overheating. Obviously ammo has its place in many games, but a futuristic shooter could do without it IMO. Games are about fun, and running out of ammo is not fun. Hopefully it doesn’t become a constant annoyance like it is in some games.

Now that I've finished Demons Souls, I'm back at Bloodborne. Man, I'm starting to get what's great about it. Just beat Bloodstarved Beast on my first try, which I was surprised about since there was a lot of hype about that boss online. I also tried the tutorial for Dark Souls Remastered, beat the first boss/demon after missing the lunge lmao. Excellent game too. My goal, which might be unrealistic, is to beat all the soulsborne, aside from DS2, before Elden Ring. I've done DS3 (DLCs remaining though), Sekiro, Demons Souls and going for Bloodborne for the Christmas holidays before tackling on DS:R.

EDIT: Really getting hooked with Bloodborne right now. I'm having an easier go at it than Dark Souls 3 and Sekiro. 2 tries for Cleric Beast, I think 3-4 for Gascogne, and then beat bloodstarved beast, Amelia and the Witches all first try. I'm starting to get the combat/iframes/riposte systems all down. Really like how you can regain health, makes it so I can play agressive, but strategically. It's actually a typical FromSoft system: its so tempting to attack and regain your health, but sometimes that can be a trap and you can lose even more. Really enjoying this game right now.

Edit 2: the art style is just amazing. I can't believe this is a 2014 PS4 game.
If you're past Father Gasoline and Bloodstarved Beast, you're pretty much in the clear IMO. Martyr Logarius is the only other boss in the main game that I got hung up on in my playthrough but he's an optional boss. I mentioned it in my review of Sekiro, but one thing I didn't like about Bloodborne was them frontloading their toughest bosses.

Anyway, came here to mention that the Bloodborne DLC is on sale until 1/20 for $8. I will probably be jumping into that soon.

I'm currently messing around with Stadia cause I got a free 3 month trial. I decided to check out the free to play games (you can play these games without any type of subscription) totally free. It gives you an idea of just how few people use Stadia. Literally any game that does not have cross-play you will not find a single match no matter how long you wait.

For cross-play games I was play Super Animal Royale this is actually a genuinely good game. Its like fortnite if it was a flash game. Much better than it sounds trust me. Anyways, it has an interesting feature. It shows who is playing on Stadia despite it being crossplay. I dont know why Google would use this feature but its funny nonethless because with full matches of 64 people only like 1 person is on Stadia.

Crayta is an interesting one because its only on Stadia and EGS so its partially exclusive. Its completely dead you can wait a million years you will not have enough people to play a single game.

9 to 5 This one is actually on everything, but for some weird reason Stadia does not have cross-play. This one again is completely dead you can wait as long as you want you're not getting in a game.

Super Bomberman R Online This one uses bots, so good news, very easy to find a match. Bad news, they're all bots.

Destiny 2
Suprisingly even though this is crossplay there is a ton of Stadia players. I'm wondering if the servers try to put stadia players together. Regardless this one genuinely surprised me just how many Destiny 2 Stadia players there are. I'm actually impressed with this one. The input delay is extremely good too though keep in mind im playing on an ethernet connection on a 165 hz monitor. Still on a mouse and keyboard it feels completely fine. My only criticism: It literally looks like a ps3 game. I thought stadia was supposed to be more powerful than the Xbox One X? Theres Jaggies and horrible textures everywhere. I think Switch could do better.

Yeah, I haven't had much trouble with the game up to now. Gascogne took me something like 4 or so tries and he was the boss that took me the longest. Logarius was three times and now Ebrietas was also three times. All of the others were 1 shot deals. Just beat Micolash who was much easier than I expected. I never look at guides/videos for bosses or mobs (I do for items/understanding gear or when I'm lost/need a lamp soon). That said, they might not be gruesome hard like Sekiro or Nameless King, but they're really awesome bosses. I can't give them enough credit for the level design, it's just fantastic. I'm probably going to start the DLC now as Ive heard it's the perfect timing. Apparently, it's very hard.

I didn't find it THAT easy . Didn't beat any of them on the first crack except for the blue guys, but definitely easier than Sekiro. And it was my first Soulsborne game, so there was a lot to get used to.

Micolash wasn't hard. Just annoying as hell.

I try not to use guides on my first playthrough, but there were a couple of times I just couldn't figure out where to go, so I had to look it up. Then I used a guide on my second playthrough so that I could get the platinum. That's one of my complaints with FromSoft. It's too easy to miss stuff for the platinum without using a guide and once you miss it, it's gone. It ended up being less of an issue for Sekiro because NG+'s weren't that much harder, but from my understanding Bloodborne NG+ is significantly harder.

I started the DLC. It's awesome, but either a) Sekiro has made me a way better gamer or b) I'm way too leveled up after grinding through the dungeons (hint: the answer is b)). I used a summon on the first boss anticipating it being really hard. I died a couple of times and then figured I'd give it a go alone to get better before wasting all my insight on the summon. Ended up beating him in my first try alone. Then I beat the next 3 bosses on the first try. 3 of the 4 so far were awesome and as good as the best bosses in the main game. I'm going to finish up the DLC and then either finish the main game again and retry the DLC on NG+ or see if I have a save of my original playthrough with a less leveled up character.

I think all the experience with your previous run as well as Sekiro definitely helped. How long has the DLC been up to now for you ? What SL are you at (I'm around SL80).

Started playing Guardians of the Galaxy. Absolutely loving it thus far. The writing is clever and gameplay fun.

DLC has probably been like 6-7hrs heading into the final area.

I'm at like level 130 . I was getting kind of bored with the dungeons and had already beat the game in my first playthrough, so I said screw it and just kept dumping my blood echoes into skill points. I wasn't thinking about the DLC. Oops. I've since read around level 80 is a good place to try the DLC. I've also seen 120+ if you're on NG+, so I will probably try it on NG+ next.

Tales of Arise, Super Meat Boy (working on another no-death run trophy), NHL 22 Franchise mode, 7 Days to Die, Rimworld and Hades. Those are the main games I'm working on right now. Every one of them is a fantastic game, although NHL 22 does have a lot of drawbacks.

Yeah, @Andrei79, I'd start the DLC before you level up anymore if you want it to still be a challenge. I beat the final and consensus hardest boss in the entire game in my first attempt last night .

I've already gotten past Vicar Amelia in NG+, so I'm ready to retry the DLC. Made pretty quick of it, but can definitely notice the enemies are hitting a lot harder and their health is higher considering how leveled up my character and weapon are. Curious to see how hard the DLC bosses will be now.

That actually sounds really fun. I'm sure it's a pretty gratifying feeling when you get it to click just right.

FYI, he's since finished it. See his review and our discussion of the game in the "Last few games you beat and rate them" thread.
Thanks, I'll check that out.

that is one of the greatest games ever made i reckon. it is a game changer for local co-op play, i just think that's a somewhat fading style of game play

Oh I just saw it was GOTY, deserved!
I've been dragging my feet on this game, my fiancée and I have been looking for another game to play after finishin Quern and the original Myst.

Been playing Returnal. Absolutely love it and probably my favorite take on a roguelike I've come across it. The combat is so satisfying and progession is great too.

This, and Hades both evolved the formula for the better. Sure, the game still requires you to understand weapon drops/traits and player skill to do the majority of the work but it's nice the game throws you a bone in the form of permanent upgrades that most serve to make powering yourself up easier.

In the first act of the game, in the first area/biome have areas blocked off either by massive gaps or destructible vines. You can't get the tools required to open it until after beating the second and third area's bosses respectively. Along with some other permanent upgrades like weapon traits unlocking if you use them enough, more consumable slots, etc.

The blocked off areas don't usually have a ton of stuff, but stuff that still helps like healing items, health upgrades, weapon level ups, etc. To me me it feels like it creates a very smooth gameplay loop

The game starts off tough like roguelikes tend to do as you have to learn how things work/enemies fight/etc. First couple runs I got my ass handed to me but as I learned how the game works while improving with every passing room. Maybe you die late in a run. Sucks, but as I said the upgrades you can get from processing don't hand you an instant key forward, but it does make getting back a bit easier.

Started playing it late last week and I've gotten good enough where I'm in the second last biome. So right at the end games doorstep

Looks like I'm not as done with Returnal as I thought.

Apparently killing the final boss isn't the true ending? I need to do all the house segments (I think I'm missing one since the transition between 4 and 5 means can't go back to see the last one until I die) and then something about collecting keys? Then apparently I kill the final boss again for the real ending.

Can't say I'm upset lol. Given how you can jump between biomes and how this game works I'm assuming those keys are permanent once you got them making it easier to collect
