Last time i checked Strome's numbers were just as good away from Kane as they were with him?

the guy whose numbers really dipped away from Kane were Debrincat's.

I guess factoring in zone starts Stromes numbers still look decent but Kane's fall off a cliff and he's still getting 70% OZ faceoffs too.

We have 2.8 mil if you take away the 13th forward

Engvalls qo is 1.4 mil correct?

You can get sandin for a 3rd at 2.1 mil and we'd be over the cap with a match. I wouldn't assume we have it in the bag to sign both.

A third to take the gamble on him is a solid bet especially if his agent is openly searching for them

sandin for a 3rd round pick?

Any offer sheet under 2.1 is a third

2.1-4 is a second

Matthew Highmore (4th liner who was Adam Gaudette's return when he was traded to CHI from VAN) signed with STL.

Johan Larsson signed with PIT (not fully confirmed yet). Would have been a decent bottom 6 option.

Benning and Nutivaara to SJS. Benning got 4 years at just over one mill (really weird deal but fair enough) and Nutivaara is TBD.

There have been a few other smaller deals but that is about it for ones that have not been reported yet.

Leafs need RD depth and Michael Stone is really the only good RH guy left (who is not a full time guy like Subban, Klingberg, or Stralman). Otherwise, we'd need to turn to guys like Niku, Mete, Beaulieu, Dronov, or de Haan who have been listed as switch guys, or guys like Duszak who were good AHLers but have no NHL experience.

Two moves that are roughly cap neutral (depending on Sandin contract):

Holl for Bastian
Sandin for Roy

Leafs get tougher to play against. Each trade solves a need for both teams.

Edit: Matt Roy - Los Angeles Kings

What needs does it solve for New Jersey or Vegas? New Jersey has Hamilton and Severson on the right side, plus their 2nd overall pick is an RD. Vegas has Theodore, Martinec, McNabb, and Clague on the left side.

New Jersey needs a RHD for this season. It's unlikely Nemec plays year 1. Holl is signed for 1 more year. They also have a plethora of bottom 6 forwards. I should have specified Matt Roy. Roy lines up next to Rielly or Muzzin. LAK have too many RHD and need to shed cap. They also need quality LHD which Sandin would fill.

Do we maybe try to go 7D and rotate the big 4 through the 4th line?

It seems to be the only way we can play Sandin on the left like Dubas alluded to in the presser

If the Leafs move Muzzin & Holl, maybe Strome and Nino become options?

Something like this would be cool.

Sens just gave $8m to Norris (good deal), which takes them up over $70m.

With RFA deals still to come for Formenton, Joseph, and Brannstrom - looks like they're going to be nearly a cap team this year.

RIP Melnyk

They are also getting rid of Zaitsev to free up cap space

Sandin was one of the better young Ds in the NHL last season. Not quite sure about the rush to ger rid of him.

You do realize he’s currently our #4 LD right? No one “rushing@ to trade him but if he ain’t going to play you might as well swap him for something that is.

Wonder if we even TRIED to get human warriors like deslauriels.... Reaves, etc. What was the other guy... Marchment, well he would have been too expensive. But not desleariels. Also even balcers is a smart warrior, not as tough as deslauriels, but that checking game he has. They are the people WHO CHANGE the game and how others look at us... nobody dares to look at desleuriels. We need people like that. This the last time you gon se a bad guy like this here mayne.

You need people like that.

They are expecting a besaunce season by muzzin sire. He will be our leaders out there again.... we need some warriorerettes, with axes.

Josh Norris for 8 mil. It seemed like as long as you score 30 goals and 55pts, you are getting paid around 8mil/yr.

How much are you expecting those RFA's to come in at?
